Military literature: a common list. Modern Military Literature

The Patriotic War, like the most difficult time for the country in the mid-1940s, will for a long time remain in the memories of those who witnessed those terrible events. Following the cinematography, which annually creates films about the war, literature does not lag behind in any way. Its only drawback - in comparison with the movie books about battles are of less interest. Military literature, a general list of books that should be read, a detailed study of the most vivid examples - the theme of our today's article.

Young patriots of the country

Hope Nadezhdina did not think to become a writer. And even more so, when publishing prose works for children, she did not expect that she would have to write about the war once. The schoolgirl, the heroine of her novel "Partisan Lara", leaves her native village, but will not be able to return - the Germans occupied occupation. Together with her friends she went to the brigade headquarters, but she was not taken because of her young age. And so I wanted to go to the front and most importantly - to save my family! Without the approval of strangers, the girl decides to become a partisan. Dressed in rags, she merges with nature, penetrates into the village, watches the Germans, noting the individual details: the time of arrival of the train with cargo, the scheme of building sentries, the number of weapons ... Did Lara liberate her relatives? The story of how many young children can do for their Motherland is a masterpiece that military literature can boast of. A general list of all books of this direction is not without the story of 1988 "Partisan Lara".

Prisoners give their word

The native of Lithuania Maria Rolkajtejte has got to a concentration camp in 1941. She personally observed all the horrors of prisoner imprisonment, and several years later she wrote a book about it. Maria to this day remains almost the only writer who tells about the heroism and the difficult fate of the Jewish people, especially in the cruel years of the war.

Military fiction is represented by the book "Alone with Memory". In it, unlike other of her works, Maria devotes little attention to autobiographical facts. In addition to describing the events taking place on the battlefield, "Alone with Memory" tells of the difficult choice that had to be made. Sometimes, in order to survive, one must kill. What can tortured residents of the occupied cities do to save their own lives?

we are from the future

No, this movie has no relation to the film about the war with this name. But, of course, draw parallels with the general idea of the narrative is not difficult. The past is left in the memories. But what if history itself makes contemporaries feel all the "delights" of war on themselves? Several main characters turn out to be in 1942. The thick of bloody events make them decide on a choice - they can stay or return, preserving the present and the past or forever changing the course of events ... Alexei Ivakin's interesting novel "We'll perish yesterday" falls deservedly into the list of military literature. According to the readers, on his pages the author reliably moved to the front, showed the fullness of the tragedy.

Living memories

The main character of the work of Eduard Verkin long retired. I've had years behind me. Seated at the head of a large family, surrounded by the scent of shish kebabs and beloved grandchildren, he suddenly searches for the remnants of events when the winter of 1942 was in the yard. Carrying out the next request of his relatives, he recalls mud and impassable drifts, captured Germans, pomegranates and stew, a warm fire and a soft blanket. And also - the number of fascists, whom he interrupted. Together with Dimka alongside Sanych, who, like him, believed that it was his main duty to reach the end ...

"Cloud Regiment" of 2012 is not the first work of Verkin writing on historical topics. A warm reader's reading and a payback of circulation speak of a bright novel, which modern military literature can be proud of.

Remember. Do not forget

And again raising the issue of concentration camps, the literary critic Tatiana de Rosnay reflects on who and why allowed in the distant 1942 to destroy their compatriots. Thousands of Jews languish in anticipation of the Auschwitz camp. But they still do not know about the imminent death. Little Sarah dreams of returning to Paris as quickly as possible, a city that separated him from the 4-year-old brother, who was locked up in a closet for salvation. After the camp, Sarah will come to the restored France, but it will be too late ...

"The key of Sarah," released in 2007, immediately won the critics. And he collected a million army of admirers of Tatiana's talent all over the world. Roman takes the leading place among the bestsellers. Three years later he was filmed. The main role was played by actress Christine Scott Thomas.

What components can be distinguished by talking about works like this? All of them bear the imprint of tragedy, pain, despair, carried by the participants of those terrible events in many years. Of course, the attitude of the current generation, ready to still honor the memory, bribes. Particularly pleased that this is rich in modern art military literature.

Encyclopedia for generations

Who said that only artistic fiction can become the basis of the book? Documentary style - the most common direction, which is rich in military literature. Prose goes to the background, giving way to archival information, which is the basis of this chronicle, which is being prepared for over twenty years. "1443 days and nights ..." literally on days recreate the first raids of the fascists, who surrounded the country from several fronts. The authors have reworked thousands of memories of soldiers, historians, extracts from official documents. Do not forget about the letters from the front, filled with drama and honor. This book is intended for a wide audience, remaining a weighty scientific work on the Great War.

The rich military literature

Together with the examples mentioned above, the general list is diluted by technical literature. Those who want to touch history not only in art, should recommend a variety of books and periodicals. All of them are devoted to the Patriotic War, but they are of scientific interest.

Military technical literature will tell about the armament of the Soviet Union in the period 1941-1945, aircraft carriers and anti-submarine ships participating in the battles.
