Sukhodolskoye Lake. Recreation and Fishing

A picturesque place for recreation and fishing - Sukhodolskoye Lake - is located in the Priozersky district, 95 km from St. Petersburg. It is located in the north of the Karelian Isthmus and enters the large lake-river system of Vuoksa.

The uniqueness of this place is not only in the beautiful countryside, clean water and sandy beaches, but also in the natural archaeological site located here - a complex of ancient stones that are cult sanctuaries.

Historical reference

Until 1950, the lake had a different name - Suvanto (or Suvanto-jarvi). It did not flow into Ladoga, but directly into the river. Vuoksa. On the eastern side of the lake there was a road from Vyborg to Korela (now Priozersk), which was called Vuoksinsk. Since people had to drag vessels between these two lakes through the isthmus, a congestion was formed.

According to historical data, in the 16 century. Here was located the town of Volochek Svan, where many merchants lived, who actively used the machine. In 1741, local residents decided to dig a canal to drain it into Ladoga. As a result of these efforts, and also with the help of weather phenomena, the Sukhodolskoe Lake and Ladoga significantly approached each other (the jumper between them was 50 m).

In 1818, during strong spring rains, the water in the lakes rose, eroding meadows and fields. But the last point in this matter was put by the strongest storm, which washed the rest of the sandy land. So there was another river - Taipaleen-yoki, which is famous for its rapids.

Inhabitants

Sukhodolskoe lake is famous for its great variety of fauna. Here, fishermen can easily catch bream, ruff, perch and pike. Also found are roach and burbot, a bumper and a hive. Sometimes water can please the presence of pike perch, jaz, crocheted, elk, fir, whitefish and grayling. Very rare trout, but its fishing is prohibited.

Fishing

Many anglers consider the Sukhodolskoye lake to be the most fishy place. Fishing here is pleased with the variety of the catch. They catch both from the boat and from the shore. This is possible due to the presence of sharp dips, which create good conditions for casting the spinning rod and rods to a greater depth.

The following places are best for fishing from the shore:

• The mouth of the duct (radius 100 m);
• Cape, which is located opposite the duct;
• The shore of the lake, located at a distance of 300 m to the north from the railway station "Losevo".

It should be remembered that there is a strong enough current, therefore it is recommended to use only special tackles. In this place the fishermen will be pleased with the catch of the yazza and bream, roach and baster. At zhivitsa also sometimes goes burbot.

As for fishing by boat, it is produced at considerable depth. The best gear for such fishing is the ring and the feeder. As bait, worms and spells are used, which are perfectly served with Czechoslovakia and bream with a weight of 200-800 grams. Also fishermen use a fishing pole with an ordinary float, on which it is possible to catch a bream to 3 kg in deep dumps. The most favorable time for this is May-October, and especially the middle and end of summer. In early spring, using a fishing rod, you can catch a fir and a whitefish. For pike fishing, fishermen prefer the eastern and middle parts of the Sukhodol Lake. Here there are large pikes weighing 2-4 kg. Quite often in the shallows you can find roach, crab and even trout.

Winter fishing on the lake

If in the summer the perch is extremely rare, and not very large, then in the winter it will please any fisherman. At a great depth (3-5 m), it is caught on a spoon-bait or mormyshku. Also at this time of year, at a depth of 5 meters, a large roach is excellent. But the most impressive catch for fishermen is burbot, for which Sukhodolskoye Lake is an excellent habitat. Unfortunately, bream is very difficult to catch in the winter.

Sukhodolskoe Lake - recreation and entertainment

Waters and the coast of the lake in question allow you to actively spend time. In addition to inveterate fishermen, you can also meet diving enthusiasts here, and the river. Vuoksa is excellent for rafting and canoeing in rough water (Losevo station). For a comfortable pastime along the coast, various recreation centers have been built. Sukhodolskoye Lake, thanks to its beauty and abundance of fish, is very popular among tourists not only from Russia, but also from other countries.

Where you can relax

Among a large number of resort areas are usually allocated BO "Woket". On the territory of the base there are modern cottages, located on 5 lines, a guarded parking lot, wooden baths and sports grounds. To get to the recreation center "Voghodka" from St. Petersburg, you can take the A129 (Priozerskoe Highway) to 68 km, then turn to the road leading to Olkhovka village.

Also near the lake is the cottage-club "Brusnik". It has six cottages made of wood, many arbours, a volleyball and children's playground, a house-club (there are darts, table tennis). Cottage Club is located in a pine forest with access to Sukhodolskoe Lake. The approaches to "Lingonberry" are as follows:

• By road on the Priozerskoe Highway to 77 km, turn right before the railway crossing, continue for about 2 km;
• By rail on the train to the station Losevo, and from there by motor transport;
• By bus (K-859) from the station Devyatkino to the stop "Ovragi".

Excellent for family holidays is suitable for "Youth", which is located opposite the Losevsky rapids in a pine forest near the shore of the Sukhodol Lake. There is a nice beach, sauna, artesian water. You can reach the destination on the Priozerskoe Highway (up to 78 km), then turn right and continue for about 2 km.
