Lenten casseroles: recipes and cooking tips

Currently, the secular press in its publications focuses only on the dietary significance of fasting. This is absolutely wrong. Of course, the use of light foods, plant products will entail a physical cleansing of the body, the loss of excess kilograms. But the post is by no means an unloading diet. It presupposes, first of all, moral purification. Fasting people should not only use light foods, but also give up bad habits, control their emotions (for example, anger), refrain from violent entertainment.

This article will offer recipes for dishes, in particular, casseroles, which will help to sustain the fast. But at the same time they are suitable for diet. Simply every person should consciously distinguish these concepts from each other. Lenten casseroles turn out to be quite tasty and satisfying, despite the smiles of skeptics who think that it is impossible to cook a dish without eggs, fat and other forbidden foods.

Lenten casseroles can be prepared from a variety of foods. Here, for example, is a recipe for a fish dish. You will need 400 grams of fish fillet, a half kilo of potatoes, 150 grams of vegetable oil, 60 grams of tomato paste, 100 grams of onions, parsley (two tablespoons), breadcrumbs, sugar, salt, red and black pepper. You need to cut the peeled and washed potatoes with slices. Fish fillet fry in vegetable oil. The onions must be cut into half rings and fried too. Now take the baking mold, oil it and start laying the layers. First half of the potatoes, pour tomato paste with sugar and spices, then fish with onions, again sauce, and on top everything is closed with the remaining potatoes and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. The dish should be baked in the oven until cooked. Serve with parsley or dill on the table. It turns out very tasty.

Lenten casseroles can be prepared from vegetables. Here is one of the recipes that you might need. Take the colored beans, soak it in water for three hours, then boil until soft. Then it must be cooled, without removing it from the saucepan. To prepare the sauce, take the carrots and onions, finely chop them and save on vegetable oil. Add fresh tomatoes to them, extinguish all this for five minutes. Season the sauce with sugar, salt, put the bay leaf, you can add a little flour. Then it should be poured into a pot of beans, which is in the broth, mix it all, sprinkle with herbs and send it to the oven before browning the top layer. Such a casserole without eggs can become a completely independent dish.

But the recipe for those who are not indifferent to mushrooms. In general, baked pudding often is prepared from this product in combination with potatoes. It turns out delicious and satisfying. Take a kilogram of potatoes, 300 grams of champignons, 10 olives, two tomatoes, 200 grams of broccoli, lean mayonnaise, olive oil, turmeric, Provence herbs and salt, one onion. Boil the potatoes, while adding turmeric to the water. Then you need to make a mash, diluting the potatoes with the broth in which it was cooked. Champignons must be cut into plates, fry them with olive oil in Provencal herbs. Now take the shape, put potatoes (one third of it) in it, place the mushrooms on top, then the onion cut into the finest ringlets, then another part of the puree, the next layer - olives and tomatoes (cut into plates). At the end we spread the remains of mashed potatoes, grease it with lean mayonnaise, and place the broccoli over the casserole, while its pieces are pushed into the potatoes. The resulting casserole has excellent taste qualities, and its aroma is simply divine.

All the above recipes can be safely called lean. In addition, these casseroles are low-calorie, so they will fit into the dietary diet. You just have to try to cook them. Now you do not think that casseroles are leavened - it's tasteless?
