The actors of the film "Young Guard": they showed the great feat of young Krasnodarers

The novel "Young Guard", which became famous, became the second and last great work for the writer Alexander Fadeev. After a very short period of time it turned out that his work only partly shows the true story of the organization of the underground anti-fascists of the Great Patriotic War, of which almost everyone knows now. True, the names of most of the heroes of his opus the writer pointed out the real ones.

Roman Fadeev was a mandatory program in the literature of all educational institutions of the Soviet Union. Despite the fact that the writer himself constantly maintained that the story that took place in reality, and the story written by him, can not be compared in any case, the novel was perceived as the truth in the last instance. All that was at least a little bit connected with the organization of the underground was sacred. Therefore, when in 1945 Sergei Gerasimov, meeting with Alexander Fadeyev, decided to screen the novel, the actors of the film "Young Guard" were selected especially carefully.

Summary of the picture

The hot summer of 1942. Soldiers of the Soviet Army leave the mining town of Krasnodon, which soon falls under the German occupation. Fascist tanks cut the road, a small group of Komsomol members can not leave the city and returns home. In order not to leave the brutal atrocities of the fascists unpunished, the guys, who only yesterday were ordinary schoolchildren, make a conscious decision to create an underground organization called "Young Guards". In such a simple way, they begin to conduct a hidden war against the invaders, accomplishing a number of truly heroic deeds: they burn the German stock exchange, save local residents from fascist slavery, carefully leaf out leaflets throughout the city, and release the Red Army soldiers who were in captivity from the enemy. And on a national holiday - the anniversary of the Great October Revolution - young people hung Soviet bright red flags in the city.

Only a couple of months ago, one of them was a very calm person and did not think about committing feats; Someone was very principled and punctual, accurate and disciplined; But someone knew all the neighbors as a merry hooligan. But they, these guys, using their ingenuity, desperate audacity and incredible courage, were able to commit the most dangerous and most stunning actions.

How did the idea for the adaptation of the novel come about?

In September 1943, Pravda published a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union stating that members of the underground organization were awarded medals and orders. Here was placed an essay "Immortality" about the feat of children (the author was Alexander Fadeev). The newspaper's number spread instantly, and the heroic work of boys and girls became known in all parts of our vast country.

In just one and a half year two large Soviet publications - the magazine "Znamya" and the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" - began to acquaint readers with the first chapters of the novel about the feat of the young Krasnodarites - "Young Guard" Alexander Fadeev.

Director Sergey Gerasimov, having familiarized himself with the beginning of the epoch-making work, met with the author and told about his idea of a thesis based on Fadeev's work.

That idea seemed interesting. Work on creating the play began when the last chapters only poured out from the pen of the writer. Fadeev briefly read them to students, who subsequently and embodied on stage and screen the image of the young guardsmen. Future actors of the film "Young Guard" Got acquainted with the work very carefully. After all, the events outlined in the novel, occurred recently, just a couple of years ago. And in the memory of the townspeople they were still very fresh.

Fadeev approved the chapters from his work set in the workshop. Gradually, the play was moved to the big stage of the Theater actor. After such success, the idea of the film adaptation of the Young Guard was born.

How were the actors selected?

Tamara Makarova once recalled that in the matter of the distribution of roles, Gerasimov always listened to Fadeyev's opinion. So they started shooting the film "Young Guard". The actors and the roles they played were chosen just superbly. Inna Makarova, who embodied Lyubov Shevtsova on the screen, was confirmed even without trial, seeing her in the student staging of "Carmen". Some of the artists were invited from the side, for example, Vladimir Ivanov, who played the role of Oleg Koshevoy. Ivanov during the war was a front-line scout, demobilized in 1945 after a three-time heavy injury. Without putting anyone from the admissions committee in the knowledge of his disability, he goes to GITIS, and a little later transferred to VGIK.

Sergei Gurzo was selected for the role of Tyulenin. Sergei Bondarchuk got the role of Valko, firmly believing that this is his character, only after reading the novel. Eugene Morgunov played the role of Stakhovich. The prototype of the traitor Stakhovich was Viktor Tretyakevich. The picture was very natural and vital. The actors of the movie "Young Guard" were perceived by spectators as their characters in this film. Morgunov received thousands of letters, among which there were a lot of offensive ones, where the artist was called "Judas". But, having coped with emotions, the actor realized that all these lines are a strong influence on the audience of realistic art. He always believed that this role is one of the main things in his acting destiny. By the way, many years later it turned out that Tretyakevich was not a traitor. Gerasimov made amendments to his film: in the final of the picture the announcer among the dead of the Krasnodonians now calls Tretyakevich.

From VGIK invited yet Nonna Mordyukova (the role of Uliana Gromova), Vyacheslav Tikhonov (played by Vladimir Osmukhin), Tamara Nosova (the role of Valentina Filatova). And there were Georgy Yumatov in the role of Anatoly Popov, Clara Luchko as aunt of Marina, Vsevolod Sanayev in the role of underground communist, Lyudmila Sokolova as a young guard ...

Then, in the distant forties, The actors of the film "The Young Guard" played so convincingly that for several decades no one of the filmmakers even thought about doing another movie reading of the novel.

What does the future prepare for us?

67 years have passed. On the screens went 12-serial film "Young Guard". And the creators of the picture in every way stressed that this series is by no means a screen version of the novel by Alexander Fadeev, by which director Sergei Gerasimov shot a film in the distant post-war forties. This is a new story, built on the basis of documented facts about fearless teenagers from Krasnodon. This was the film "Young Guard". Photos of actors instantly scattered through the pages of glossy editions. Those whom the audience knew not very well, became known literally after viewing the first series. Oleg Koshevogo was played by Vyacheslav Chepurchenko, Lyubov Shevtsov - Ekaterina Spitsa, Ulyana Gromova - Irina Gorbachev, Ivan Turkenich - Yuri Chursin, Anatoly Kovalev - Viktor Khorynyak, Victor Tretyakevich - Nikita Tezin. They invited Larisa Shakhvorostov, Vladimir Antonik, Nikolay Serdtsev ...

Gift for the Victory Day

Director Leonid Platonov decided to present to all Russians a gift for the greatest holiday - the Day of the Great Victory. This unusual gift and became the series "Young Guard". The film, whose actors, like the last time, were selected carefully enough, was released on May 5, 2015.

The creators of the film tried to get answers to various questions that Alexander Fadeyev did not disclose. And questions have accumulated oh how much: who of the members of the group turned out to be a traitor, who dared to give out to the Germans the children in the group, who was still the leader of the Young Guard?

In this interpretation of the novel, very talented actors united, despite their youth. Therefore it is clear that even the most capricious audience has shown interest in the show.

Of course, last year's picture is not in any comparison with the Gerasimov's version. To fans of a black and white film the new cinema can not be to liking. And still watch this series is at least in order to think about how very young guys and girls tried their utmost to help the front, defending their homeland, their hometown of Krasnodon.
