Lenten breakfast: recipe for rice cakes with mushroom sauce

Rice cakes with mushroom sauce

The simplest lean breakfast can consist of salad, sandwiches, fritters or cereals. We suggest you cook rice cakes, seasoning them with mushrooms. Aromatic gravy can be used as a successful addition to other dishes. The preliminary preparation of "mincemeat" for flat breads takes some time, so you can make a baking dish in the evening and place it in the refrigerator. If you are preparing a fasting breakfast in the morning slowly, for example on a day off, do everything according to a recipe that requires one hour to cool the prepared rice mass. It is worth noting that, eating normally, without restrictions in protein foods, it is possible to add eggs to the "mince" to increase the stickiness, replacing them with vegetable oil, and add sour cream instead of water.

Preparation of tortillas

Products:

- Long grain rice - 0.5 cup or 1 sachet;

- onions - 2 pieces;

- Ground red pepper;

- medium-sized Bulgarian pepper - 1 piece;

- vegetable oil: used for frying and minced meat (1.5 tablespoons);

- bread crumbs.

Operating procedure:

    1. Boil the rice until half cooked, then rinse several times with cold water and flip it over the colander. It is possible to use rice in sachets. In this case, do not rinse after cooking, just let it cool.
    2. Finely chopped or skewed onions and bell peppers mix with rice, season with salt, vegetable oil and ground pepper. The resulting rice mass is covered with a lid and placed in the refrigerator for one hour.
    3. Form small cakes and fry in a medium-hot vegetable oil, pre-roll them in breadcrumbs.

Cooking sauce

Products:

- fresh mushrooms (champignons) - 300 grams;

- vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons;

- green onions - 100 grams;

- flour - 2 tablespoons;

- water 150-180 ml;

- Ground black pepper - to taste;

- walnuts - 1 tablespoon;

- salt.

Operating procedure:

  1. On vegetable oil fry finely chopped onions and mushrooms for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Pour in flour, salt, pepper and chopped nuts and, stirring, simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the water and bring to the consistency of thick sour cream.

Try to cook other lean dishes. In fasting or without restrictions in food, you can easily include in your diet simple to prepare and original to taste useful food. Use prunes, honey, dried apricots, nuts. And then your lean breakfast will be an excellent energy boost for the whole day!
