To all those who for one reason or another are not familiar with the work of this outstanding musician, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with this article. It describes his achievements, his life and his creative path.

Joey Jordison: biography, early years

Joey was born on April 25, 1975 in Iowa. His childhood was full. Inclination to creative activity began to manifest itself in early childhood. Unlike their peers, who all day long stood in front of the TV screens, Jordison preferred to listen to heavy music. Many did not understand how a boy of his age might like such "hard" (for those times) performers, like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Kiss. The last of the above-mentioned collectives and to this day is the favorite band of this outstanding musician. In his interviews, he repeatedly mentioned that Peter Criss, who was the drummer of the band Kiss, was his idol and strongly influenced his musical future.

First creative successes

When Joey Jordison grew up, he settled down to work in a music store, and in his spare time he played in various amateur groups. He was not interested in studying at a prestigious college, which caused bewilderment of all relatives. But, despite all the reproaches, Joey Jordison continued to do what he liked.

The first success came to him at the age of twenty-one, when he joined the young band Slipknot, formed by the same promising and ambitious musicians as himself. At that time they still did not know what glory would come upon them after just a couple of years. Young people began to play in the genre of new metal, which in those years was just beginning to emerge. So Slipknot can rightly be considered his pioneers. It can also be said with certainty that they influenced the development and popularization of the genre more than others.

The debut studio recording

His first album Slipknot was released just a year after the formation of the band. It was called Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. The album had a "raw" and aggressive sound, which was very different from what they began to play later. The album sold only a thousand copies.

The composition of the group also decently differed from the modern one, to which the current fans of the group are so used. For example, on vocals there was still no famous Cory Taylor.

The coming of glory

But the real world fame came to Joey only three years later, when in 1999 Slipknot released the self-titled album, which became the number one hit all over the world. He occupied the highest positions in all the charts and enjoyed success both among listeners and music critics. It can rightfully be called innovative. Many young musicians have repeatedly tried to copy their music, but in most cases it ended in failure. Many noted the non-standard appearance of musicians: all without exception wore frightening masks and tried not to show their faces in public. All this added mystery and led to even greater interest from the listeners. The clips also had a special atmosphere of insanity. And on live performances there were real shows, which many people could envy.

Already then everyone celebrated the virtuoso game of Jordison on drums. Despite his youth and small experience, he showed everyone that he is a professional at the highest level. Joey Jordison was characterized by an incredibly fast game, which added to the music even more rigidity and brutality. He quickly became one of the most famous drummers in the world of heavy music. In the future it allowed Jordison to take part in the albums records of many other famous bands.

The peak of the career and the legendary concert solo

Next came the most famous album of the band called Iowa. In it, Joey Jordison reached a higher level, surpassing himself. It was during this period of time that they went on another world tour, during which they recorded one of the largest and most famous performances in the history of rock music. This concert was released on DVD and was well received by the public, bringing a lot of money to musicians. It was here that the audience could see Joey Jordison's legendary solo performed on a special drum kit. The difficulty was that right during the performance of the solo this setup moved in a circle and turned even upside down, without stopping for a second. In this situation, playing is incredibly difficult, but Joey coped with this simply amazing.

Third-party music projects

After their next large-scale tour, the members of the Slipknot group decided to suspend their activities for a while and take a break. But Joey Jordison was not going to spend that time in vain and began to appear in various clips of other famous musicians, among whom was even Marilyn Manson. But the main event was the founding of the Murderdolls group. In 2002, they broke into the world of heavy music and began to play a first-class horror punk. Many people forgot about this genre, but with the appearance of this group, interest reappeared. In this group, Joey Jordison, whose photo is presented to your attention in the article, first appeared in front of the public without a mask. Murderdolls were a huge success, but, unfortunately, did not last long. Soon Joey returned to Slipknot and began work on the next album.

Subsequently, he managed to play with bands like Rob Zombie, Roadrunner United, and even play a concert with the legendary Metallica band: at the last moment Jordison replaced their main drummer who was not feeling well. He also had the good fortune to play with the Norwegian black metal band Satyricon.

Joey Jordison: world record

Also it should be mentioned that this amazing musician is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest drummer in history. 2677 strokes in just two minutes was able to make Joey Jordison. Nobody can beat the record of this great musician to this day. Soon after, he was recognized as the best drummer in the last twenty-five years. And this, you see, is worth a lot. It's hard to argue with the fact that Jordison is one of the best drummers in history.
