Jabariki-Khaya: small but remote

Djebariki-Khaya is a very small urban-type settlement in the Republic of Yakutia. It is interesting that it is located on the two banks of the small river Aldan. This village is famous for its coal mine, which provides jobs for almost all the able-bodied population of the village. Today we will talk in more detail about the mine, which "feeds" 1500 people, and also provides coal to the Republic of Yakutia.

Djebariki-Khaya, whose photo we will see below, is a village for people who are used to working and getting their bread afterwards and with blood. Some leave, but most remain here forever.

Do you know what "lives" of Yakutia? Djebariki-Khaya is a powerful enterprise that allows the republic to sell and use coal for its own needs.

History of the region

The first documentary evidence of the village appeared in 1941. The heart of development is the left bank of the Aldan River. At the beginning of its history the region was part of the Tattinsky district, but soon it separated and became an independent unit. In 1957, the Jebraki-Khainsky Village Council was formed. Already in 1974 the district was referred to the category of workers' settlements of the country. After 10 years, the long-term construction of the coal mine "Jabraiki-Khai" was completed, and in 1985 it began its work.

As for the geographic features of the region, it can be said that it is suitable for people who are strong, seasoned and accustomed to difficulties. In fact, the choice of residents is limited. Only those young people who are not satisfied with the future picture of their lives, leave the village and enter higher education institutions in other cities.

The climate of the village is sharply continental, because of which the winter is always long and severe, and the summer is short, but too hot. Already by the second half of October the Aldan River freezes completely. Despite such strict weather conditions, this region is not completely deprived of vegetation. Very artisan plantings are widespread, spruce, pine, birch, viburnum and cherry are also found.

History of the mine

Despite the official date of the creation of the mine, it began operating in 1941. The first coal mining amounted to only 5 thousand tons of coal. However, production gradually blossomed and volumes increased in the eyes.

1943 was a difficult and crucial for both the village and the mine, as there was a serious threat of the spread of typhus. Only thanks to the timely efforts of the administration and the measures taken, the epidemic was stopped.

On this the misfortunes did not end and in the spring of the same year the flood of the river carried away most of the coal from the warehouse. This became a serious problem, as the mine only developed, and it was difficult to quickly recover losses. In order to quickly solve this problem from the enterprises of Yakutsk workers and employees were sent, who made every effort to combat the disaster. Despite the fact that timely intervention helped to provide the republic with coal, mine production this year was minimal.

A peculiar breakthrough occurred in 1944, when the Stakhanov movement became more active . The increase in labor productivity and the mechanization of certain processes made it possible to significantly increase profits. An even more significant step in development was made in 1957, when the company accounted for 7 trucks, 5 bulldozers and 6 boats, as well as several scraper conveyors.

General mechanization was carried out in 1960. For the next 10 years, the company worked perfectly, providing coal to the region and getting a decent profit. In 1973, the ignition of a coal seam happened, as well as three cases of coal dust explosion. These events led to the fact that the mines were mothballed. The Dzhebariki-Khaya mine was launched in 1985. Its design capacity was 600 thousand tons per year.

Characteristics

The mine is located in the north-east of Yakutia, on the Aldan River. The deposit is opened with 5 galleries. All lavas are equipped with mechanized complexes. Starting from 2014, the mine gradually switches to an open mining method. The transition is carried out in 3 stages:

  • Completion of underground workings;
  • Stripping works;
  • Continuation of activity and purchase of a site for extraction of coal by an open method.

Practice an open method of mining first will be on the right bank of the river, and later it is planned to master the left.

Accidents

There were two major accidents at the mine: in 1973 and in 1988. Unfortunately, in each of them someone was killed. Despite the fact that the victims are single, they are still innocent human lives. There were no legal proceedings regarding the death of workers, as the causes of accidents were recognized as natural and unpredictable. In the fire and explosions of 1973, 4 people died: 2 miners and 2 mine rescuers. In 1988, there was a collapse of the rock, which took the life of one man.

Population

The number of inhabitants of the village is 1441 people. Such a small number of people residing here is explained by the fact that the territory is far removed from the central large cities, and also because residents do not have a choice of a place of work - all, in one way or another, are involved in the operation of the main coal mining enterprise.

Economy

The village of Jebarika-Khaya exists due to the mine of the same name, which is the basis of the economic situation of the district. It is a part of the production association "Yakutugol". The mine is located not far from Khandyga settlement, so the employees of the enterprise try to settle closer to the place of work.

Researchers say that due to the active work of the mine, the population of the region can be included in the whole process of goods and money circulation.
