Units from students did not resort to such cunning as cheating or preparing cribs. And this is not surprising, because sometimes the amount of material that you need to learn is simply not comparable with free time.

If in olden days people wrote cribs on scraps of paper on their own, using a small font that took a very long time, then in our time there is a wonderful program called "Vord", with which it will be done in a matter of minutes. In this article, we'll tell you how to make cribs in "Word" so that they are as compact as possible and readable.

goal

Before the story of how to make cribs in the "Word", it's worth making a small remark and explaining the main goal, that is, what we need to do.

First of all, it is necessary to place the necessary text on the A4 sheet in such a way that it contains a maximum of useful information and occupies a small space. For this, the standard tools of the program will be used.

Step 1: Split the sheet into columns

If you do not know how to make cribs in the "Word", then you first need to break the A4 sheet into columns. Their number may vary depending on your preferences, but it is important that their size be as small as possible.

As an example, we will use the text from "Wikipedia", in which, undoubtedly, there are many superfluous. You will clearly understand how to format the text so that the resulting crochets in the "Word" were of a miniature size.

So, to break a sheet into columns, you need to use the tool with the same name. It is located in the "Layout" tab. There, in the "Page Setup" tool group, click the "Columns" button and select "Other Columns" from the drop-down menu.

A window will appear in which you need to set the parameters of the columns. In contrast to the "Number of Columns" field, it is recommended to set the value to "6", but as a result, it can be changed. Do not forget to also tick off the "Separator", so that lines appear between the columns, in which in future you will cut the paper. Set the width to 2.99 cm and the gap to 0.1 cm. Finally, do not forget to tick off the "columns of the same width" and click "OK."

Now you can observe how your text, pre-inserted into the document, split into six equal columns.

Step 2: Change the fields

Having looked at the document, you can notice that there is a rather large indentation on each side, which is desirable to be removed, since it occupies quite a lot of space on the sheet, which will later be displayed on the number of cut out cheat sheets.

These indents are called fields and their distance can be changed, what we are now and will do.

While on the same Layout tab, click on the "Fields" button, which is located in the "Page Setup" tool group. After clicking, a menu will open, in which you will select "Custom fields".

A window will appear, in which it is possible to set the distance of indentations on the edges. Since we need compactness, it is logical to set the lowest value in all fields, that is "0.2 cm". In the "Fields" area, enter this value in the "Top", "Left", "Lower", "Right" and "OK".

Step 3: Change the text formatting

Now the last step will be presented, how to make cribs in the "Word". It remains only to discard the excess from the text and correct its formatting.

First let's change the font and its size. This is done on the "Home" tab in the "Font" section. The exact location of these tools you can see in the picture below.

The font is advised to put Arial, and its size is "6". Before this, do not forget to select all the text, using the keys CTRL + A.

Also, for the sake of compactness of the text, it is necessary to change the interval between the lines. To do this, in the next "Paragraph" column, click on the corresponding button and select "1.0".

As a result, review your document and remove from it unnecessary: pictures, numbered and bulleted lists, as well as all the extra information.

Now you know how to make a cheat sheet in the "Word", as you can see, it saves time many times, unlike manual writing.
