Input Devices

At present it is almost impossible to imagine life without a personal computer. But for its normal operation the standard configuration of the system unit is usually not enough. Some input devices are also needed.

Currently, several variants of such elements are distinguished. In general, the input device is a device with which the necessary data is stored in the computer's memory, after which it is possible to continue working with them. At the moment, manufacturers have significantly expanded their offer in this industry, thus allowing the consumer to choose the most convenient and necessary type of devices.

The input devices are classified according to the type of data that is stored in the computer's memory. For entering any images, input devices of graphic information are used, for recording voice messages and other sound data - the corresponding devices. To enter text information, as a rule, the keyboard is used. In fact, without it, it's impossible for the computer to work correctly, so the keyboard can be rightly considered the queen of the periphery.

The modern keyboard has 101 keys. Also there are modifications with the number of buttons equal to 102. All of them are conditionally divided into blocks. There are generally accepted rules for locating blocks on the keyboard plane. The topmost row, consisting of 12 buttons, is called a function block. Typically, when you press these keys, certain functions start to operate, which depend on the installed operating system. Under this row is an alphanumeric block. The number of keys in it varies depending on the alphabet of the country in which the model will be used. This zone is intended for input directly letters, numbers, various punctuation marks and special symbols, and also performance of some arithmetic operations.

The digital block located on the right side of the keyboard, in fact, duplicates the assignment of the numeric buttons in the previous block. With its help, the user is much more convenient to enter various digital combinations and perform calculations. There is also a block with keys that can change the purpose of certain buttons in other blocks. Since they are often used, their sizes are slightly larger than those of other keys. Modifiers include keys such as Shift, Caps Lock, Ctrl and Alt. Some of them are duplicated on both sides of the blank.

The input devices, which are all kinds of pictures, photos and other images, can also be different. The most common elements of this sphere are scanners. They also differ from each other, and their working principle depends on the design. For example, flatbed scanners transfer information to a PC by moving a special carriage with a light beam along an image placed on a transparent glass, as well as through photosensitive elements that receive beam reflections from a system of mirrors and various lenses. To date, more and more popular are such devices for input of graphic information as tablets. Due to their design, they allow the user to display images on the monitor's screen, creating them using a special pen. That is, in fact, you can draw, and the picture will immediately be displayed on the screen.

To record sound on the computer, as a rule, all kinds of models of microphones are used. Sometimes special digital dictaphones are also used. In general, due to the fact that progress is not in place, the input devices acquire a variety of modifications.
