How SSD is optimized
One of the slowest components of most computers is the hard drive. If you increase the performance of electronic components, you can relatively easily, simply increasing the frequency (this is done when overclocking the CPU and memory), then with the device for storing information based on magnetic disks, the situation is much worse.
Do I need to optimize Windows 7 SSD?
In addition, it is recommended to use Windows 7. SSD-optimization in this system is more efficient than in the outdated XP, which frankly speaking about solid-state media did not "know" anything, which is quite natural, given the date of its release - 2001.
Disable auxiliary modules
It is recommended to disable the virtual memory file or transfer it to a partition of a regular hard disk. The path to the settings is as follows: "Label properties - Computer - Additional parameters - Advanced - Speed - Advanced - Edit".
Having selected the "Control" item in the properties of the "Computer" icon, you need to open the "Services" window. In the list, find and disable SuperFetch, as well as PreFetch. Without this, normal SSD optimization is not possible. Although by disabling these services, the user slightly reduces the performance of the disk subsystem, the performance of the cells of the solid-state memory is more than enough to compensate for this loss.
Also, sometimes it is necessary to set the TRIM mode. To do this, you need to press the combination Win + R and in the line type "fsutil behavior set disabledeletenotify 0" (without the quotes). Important point: you need support from both the operating system and the device itself - old models simply do not support this command.
