There are five groups of power inputs on laptops, namely:

3. For connecting external monitors, screens.
4. Advanced, namely those connectors, which allow you to connect quite specific devices.

The diameter of the central contact of these inputs is 2.35, 2.5mm, and the operating current is up to 4A. And although it is sufficiently stable and reliable, nevertheless, among them there are breakages. What are the most frequent? Firstly, this is a bad terminal contact at the central contact. Secondly, there are often problems with overheating, with the loss of contact at the place of soldering. From the fact that there is an overheating, you can expect a fusion and, consequently, a break of contact. And, thirdly, a simple destruction of the hull part of the entrance.

Type S006 1.65mm
This power connector also belongs to the vertical group. It is used, as a rule, on such models as LG, Benq. The advantages of this input are that it is resistant to mechanical influences. The case is plastic. The operating current of this type of connectors is up to 4A. Speaking about the problematic aspects of these devices, the following should be noted: overheating, due to which the contact is lost, the connector housing is damaged, and the connection is poor at the center contact terminal, this is not the rule, but this is worth noting.

Type 026 2.5mm
Unlike previous connectors, this type refers to a horizontal group. Speaking about the working current, it can be noted that it works up to 4 A. And to the most frequent faults it is necessary to attribute the same overheating, due to which the contact is lost at the place of soldering, the melting occurs. Most often this type of input is used on budget models of old laptops.

If we talk about those computers that have experience of 3-4 years, then they use more modern power connectors, they can include: type S035 2.5mm, type S305 2.5mm.

A group of vertical connectors. This input is used on Asus laptops, the screen type of which is S035. The main advantage is that he has an enhanced central contact. Type S305 2.5mm
This is an upgraded, vertical power connector. Used on Toshiba laptops, which have a screen type S305. In this model, strengthened central contact. Its dignity is that the operating current is up to 7A, and also high-quality plastic, which has the same protected screen. Typical malfunctions include overheating and destruction of the hull.
