Hydropark (Kiev): description, beaches and entertainment

One of the favorite places for summer vacation residents of the Ukrainian capital is Hydropark (Kiev). It has all the conditions for the recreation of citizens: clean beaches, sports grounds, extreme attractions, nightclubs and restaurants.

Briefly about the park: its location and history

Hydropark (Kiev) is a favorite holiday destination for citizens and guests of the capital, especially in the summer. In winter, the park seems to be hibernating in order to meet its first holiday-makers again in May. There is a lot of entertainment for every taste and purse.

Hydropark (Kiev) is located on two Dnieper islands - Venetian and Dolobetsk, which are connected by a bridge. This entertaining place covers an area of 365 hectares. Directly above the park is the red branch of the Kiev subway.

In 1965, work began on the two islands of the Dnieper to plan and improve the future recreation area. The authors of the project were the architects IP Shpar and VL Suvorov. Three years later, Hydropark in Kiev was ready for operation. At the same time, it can accommodate at least 75,000 people.

Hydropark, Kiev: entertainment and beaches

In Kiev Hydropark there are several beaches:

• "Youth";
• "Venice";
• "Predmostovaya Slobodka";
• "Gold";
• As well as nudist.

What conditions can offer for lovers of passive recreation Hydropark (Kiev)? The beach "Molodezhny" is located near the Venice Bridge. It is free of charge, and nearby there are several cafes and restaurants. The beach "Venice" is also free, but it is more comfortable: here you can rent a chaise longue or an umbrella. There is also a disco on the territory. But on the "Golden" beach, as a rule, families with small children have a rest.

Entertainment in the Kiev Hydropark is also abundant. The most favorite kind of leisure for both children and adults is karting. The track, which is arranged here, is designed for beginners. Its total length is 350 meters. There is also its own sports ground, in particular, an open-air gym, which is deservedly called the most severe and brutal in the whole of Ukraine!

There is where to go for a walk on the islands and lovers of nightlife. At Hydropark there are at least a dozen clubs, the most popular of them is the UAM Beach Club.

Hydropark, Kiev: attractions

In May 2015, a new amusement park opened here. The price of tickets varies from 20 to 50 hryvnia, depending on the type of entertainment.

It has its own "room of fear", "wild train", as well as carousels for adults and children. Young people are very fond of the attraction called "Extreme", whose height is about 17 meters. Adults who came to Hydropark with young children can leave their children in the children's arena. Also in the park is a huge trampoline with a diameter of 18 meters. The pleasure of jumping on it will cost you 25 hryvnia.

Museum "Kiev in miniature"

It is worth noting that Hydropark (Kiev) is not only bathing on the beach, night clubs and other entertainment. There are other places of interest here. In particular, it is a museum in the open air - "Kiev in miniature".

The idea to create a similar museum arose in the capital's activists in 2000. However, the implementation of the project and the search for sponsors took six whole years. Eventually on June 23, 2006, the museum "Kiev in Miniature" at Hydropark received its first visitors.

Here is a real mini-Kiev. All models of architectural buildings are made on a scale of 1:33. In the park you can see the most outstanding metropolitan attractions: Independence Square, the Church of St. Nicholas, the airport "Borispol" and others. There is also its Dnieper, through which the models of the most famous Kiev bridges are thrown.

In the future, the organizers of the museum plan to create in Hydropark miniatures of other cities of Ukraine - Odessa and Lviv.

The Venetian bridge

In 1966 two islands of Hydropark connected an arched bridge 144 meters in length. Its name he received from the homonymous island, which the locals always compared with distant Venice. The fact is that the local area is very often flooded with the waters of the Dnieper. Therefore, residents of Predmostovaya Sloboda (a settlement that no longer exists on the map of Kiev) built houses on piles here. In addition, each had a capacious gondola boat, on which they cut through the streets in case of floods.

The Venetian bridge is not as beautiful as its name. However, it offers a wonderful view of the right bank of Kiev.

Metro station "Hydropark"

In 1965, the Kiev subway station "Hydropark" was put into operation. This is a ground-based station that has two entrances to the city. Simple architecture and uniform color design perfectly fit it into the park landscape of the islands.

Initially, the station "Hydropark" had only one (western) exit. But due to the very high passenger traffic in summer, the second (eastern) exit to the park was equipped here. In the midst of a hot season, and also on weekends, up to 250 thousand people per day pass through the turnstiles of this station.
