Siberia: sightseeing. Traveling to Siberia

Siberia occupies about a third of the total area of Russia and is located from the Urals to the mountains on the Pacific coast, from the Arctic Ocean to the steppes of Kazakhstan and Mongolia. This territory is rich in minerals, valuable wild animals and energy reserves in rivers. It sent convicts and exiles. Today we are met by a completely different Siberia. The sights are worth it to see them.

Data

The area of Siberia is about 10 million square kilometers. In the north of the region there is a tundra, empty and boundless. The central regions are occupied by the world-famous taiga, rich in furs, fish, fodder herbs and many others.

The study and detailed description of these territories began soon after accession to the Russian Empire. A huge contribution to the compilation of maps and atlases of the Siberian lands was made by Semen Ulyanovich Remezov. He and his followers have published many maps and drawings of these places. In the works of researchers, information on the population and nature was indicated.

Altai is considered to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. In its mountains originate huge rivers: the Ob, the Irtysh and the Yenisei. In Altai there are thousands of mountain lakes.

The history of Altai is thousands of years old, and confirmations are everywhere: stone mounds, ancient letters, stone sculptures. In the glacier at the end of the last century were found the remains of a woman who died 2400 years ago. The nature and landscape of this region is practically untouched by civilization. Here you will find the rivers transparent, glaciers clean, and the taiga - pristine. There are such areas of Siberia that the human foot has not walked on.

The Belukha mountain is the highest in the Altai, its height is 4506 meters. Near it there are resorts Belokurikha and Teletskoye Lake, which are among the objects of the national heritage. Healing waters Belokurikha are known throughout the country for their wonderful properties. The center of Siberia is the Novosibirsk region.

Tunguska meteorite

It flew over the territory of Eastern Siberia and fell on this territory on June 30, 1908. This phenomenon is of a planetary scale. Scientists have collected a lot of facts about this phenomenon and put forward several hypotheses. However, the mystery of this event has remained unsolved.

Numerous secrets are famous for Siberia. The sights here are special. Some of them were created by nature itself, without human participation.

Lake Baikal

This is the largest lake in the world, which has unattainable volumes of fresh water. It is the pride of the country, a symbol of its endless expanses and natural beauty. Its area is commensurate with the area of a small state - Belgium.

Even the inhabitants of other states mention it in the list of unique places of our country. The ecosystem of the lake is composed of endemics. The lake is included in the UNESCO list.

Zoo of the city of Novosibirsk

It is considered one of the largest zoos in Russia. It inhabits about 11 thousand animals from more than 700 species, the seventh part of which is in the Red Book. The zoo is created on the territory of a pine forest and has a total area of 60 hectares. The park for animals continues to expand: construction work has begun on the construction of the dolphinarium and penguinarium. The city in which it is located is the center of Siberia.

The origins of it should be sought in 1933, when a small agrobiostation in the city began to expand gradually. Irbis (better known as the snow leopard) is a symbol of this place. This animal, belonging to the cat family, is very graceful. Already later the bandage entered the symbol, which belongs to the family of cunies. Employees of the zoo managed to place in it a huge number of animals from these families. Many cities in Siberia are special. As you can see, Novosibirsk excelled in the zoo.

Museum-Reserve "Tomskaya Pisanitsa"

The nature reserve "Tomskaya Pisanitsa" was established in 1988. He is known for many entertaining expositions, among which:

  • Mythological forest of the Slavs.
  • Rock art of Asia.
  • Chapel of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius.
  • Archeodrome and the pavilion of burials.
  • The Mongolian yurt.

The most famous and popular remains the ancient sanctuary "Tomskaya Pisanitsa". This name is covered by the union of several rocks located on the right bank of the Tom River. Great luck was the discovery on these stones of amazing drawings, created over several thousand years before our era. The mystery does not cease to surprise Siberia. The sights of the region fascinate and cause thousands of questions.

Pine Bands

These are forest shelter belts, reaching many kilometers across and located along the banks of rivers. There are a lot of them in the south of the region. They are not just growing, their function is to protect the soils from weathering and sandstorms on the part of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Still these forests create a favorable microclimate for humans and animals. The names of pine forests often come from rivers in which they are located. The main enemy of ribbon burs is currently forest fires. Forest protection is not capable of providing them with protection against this threat.

Reserve "Stolby"

It is located in the north-west of the Eastern Sayan. There are about a hundred rock remains in it, the height of which reaches 600 meters. They were born because of the activity of volcanoes. About 450 million years ago, hot magma, pushing to the surface of the earth, pushed out piles of limestone and sandstone. Over time, rain and wind destroyed the soft rocks. So above the ground appeared these huge pillars, consisting of hard rocks.

Each post was named by its own name. These places have gained popularity among fans of scrambling on rocks and supporters of hanging out in the bosom of nature.

Fortress on the Tere-Khol Lake

Tere-Khol is a freshwater lake in the protected zone of the Ubsunur depression, it is one. There is a lake high in the mountains, from it to sea level - about 1300 meters. In the middle of the lake there is an island with a fortress.

The remains of the structures are visible to this day. They were erected in the middle of the XVIII century. The outer walls, reaching 10 meters in height, reliably protected the huge castle in the center. The architecture of this monument is rather complicated and confusing, it consists of many buildings. It is now possible to get into the palace by a bridge on piles with a length of almost one and a half kilometers. Such features of Siberia are controversial among scientists.

Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station

This is the most powerful hydroelectric power station in the Russian Federation and the seventh in the world. It has the highest dam in our country. The construction of the facility started in 1963, and after 15 years (in the year of launch), 1700 people have already successfully worked on it. The station's dam has a height of 245 meters and a length of 1074 meters.

The hydroelectric power station is built on the Yenisei near Sayanogorsk. After the accident in 2009, the station was completely restored. The cities of Siberia are fascinating with their power, because such important Russian facilities are located there.

Monument to slippers

The bronze monument was opened in 2006 in Tomsk. A small pedestal with thirty-centimetric slippers stands on Kirov Avenue at house number 65. The monument is right outside the hotel "Tomsk", being a symbol of comfort and joy. This confirms the inscription on the pedestal: "Be at home." Here such monuments of Siberia collect numerous tourists from all over the world.

The real fortress appeared here in 1800. The construction work was started by the command of Peter I and lasted 20 years. The fortress occupied 2.5 hectares of land and was necessary to protect the south of Siberia from the threat from China.

For military purposes the fortress did not last long. By the thirties of the same century, she lost the status of a strategic facility, and in 1846 was excluded from the list of military installations. For more than half a century the fortress was used as a prison. In 1919, it was destroyed and burned by partisans. Now there are museums of Siberia.

Wooden architecture of Tomsk

In this city there is a remarkable and unique development of the historical center. Tomsk was founded in 1604. In the center you can see many houses made of wood built in the XVIII-XIX centuries.

The historical part of the city building occupies more than 1000 hectares, on this area there are about 1800 buildings. Eighteen of them are recognized as monuments of federal significance. All buildings have their own unique style and interesting architectural solutions. Masterpieces of wooden architecture attract the eye with its rich decoration.
