How to tie a tomato in a greenhouse: advice to gardeners

The question that every amateur gardener asks himself: "How to tie a tomato in a greenhouse?" After all, the correct and timely garter of these vegetables is a pledge of a quality and a large crop. Many people know that if you do not do this procedure on time, the bushes will break with time, and the fruits that mature on the ground are a sweet prey for slugs.

And yet: how to properly tie tomatoes in the greenhouse? A specific recipe does not exist, but there are some rules that should be followed.

The first and most important of them: the material, which you will tie tomatoes, should not crash into the tree trunk or pull it. Therefore, it is better to use as a means of such a wide patchwork, for example, sliced from old clothes, or twine, which should not be thin. The width of a piece of tissue should be no less than three to four centimeters. Do not use wire, line and similar materials.

In the season you will need to change the garters 3-4 times. Once the plant has grown, it is necessary to change them or move them higher. During the season, the dressing material itself is not necessary to change, but it is necessary to do this next year.

How to tie tomatoes in a greenhouse? There are several ways. The most common of all existing ones are the support stakes. As such, it is possible to use reinforcement, narrow wooden sticks, and also plastic pegs are sold in specialized shops. They are driven into the ground to a depth of 30 centimeters near the bush (at a distance of not more than 10 centimeters). The height of the stakes should be calculated based on the tomato variety.

The dressing is loosely wrapped around the trunk. Tying tomatoes is a rather difficult and laborious work, but the harvest obtained by the nobility is worth it. If there are heavy brushes on a bush of tomato, they should also be attached to the support.

The method described above can be used both in greenhouses and outside them. Quite widespread is another option, but it can only be used in greenhouses. How to tie tomatoes in a greenhouse? Bushes of tomatoes are fixed on linear trellises. At the edges of the row there are pins 1.5-2 meters in length. Between the poles stretch the wire, the line, and the dressing material is already attached to it. So, for each tomato bush, it should be your own. It is necessary to observe constantly, that during all growth the bush is wound around its rope. When the plant becomes large enough, this should be monitored daily.

The trellis garter for tomatoes has a second variety. Between the pins several rows of wire or line are stretched at a distance of about 37 centimeters. Stems are attached to them. The advantage of this type of dressing is that tomatoes do not need to be sorted into stems. Experienced gardener constructs specialized frames, which they can move if necessary.

Now you know how to tie a tomato in a greenhouse. This should help you get a good harvest.
