These enigmatic flowers are spurge

In general, spurge flowers are simply a huge family, which includes about two thousand species. The native land of these plants is America, Africa and the island of Madagascar. Among this variety there are such huge representatives who can not be grown at home. But those plants that fall into the apartments, deservedly enjoy the love of their masters. After all, flowers spurge are the most real long-livers, over the years they do not lose their attractiveness.

The name of this succulent representative is interesting. If you break any of the plants belonging to this very large family, then a whitish liquid, similar to milk, appears on the scrap. But do not even try to try it, because it is poisonous, and when it gets on the mucous membrane causes quite serious burns.

One of the most beautiful representatives of this numerous family is the most beautiful spurge, which for its beauty is called the Bethlehem star. Usually it blooms very colorfully on Catholic Christmas. This plant has large, bright green leaves, and under the inflorescences are either bright red, or pink, or white leaves, which give the plant an amazing view. But the flowers themselves, compared with the luxurious leaves, ordinary-looking, and they do not even always pay attention. Euphorbia, the most beautiful, needs bright sunlight, but the truth is, in the summer, in the hottest months, it requires darkening. And in the hot season this plant must be constantly sprayed.

Another representative of the succulent family is the poisonous euphorbia. It is quite spiny, a small shrub that has an irregular shape. This plant is widespread in such African countries as Angola, Namibia and South Africa. Judging by the name, just like all Molochaevs, its juice is toxic. But, strangely enough, after this juice dries, it can be used to feed cattle. Its use is especially effective during a drought. But the poisonous euphorbia is also a medicinal plant known to mankind for several millennia. So, the ancient healers, attributed the juice to the milkweed laxatives, diuretics, diaphoretic, anthelmintic, emetic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and distracting properties. In ancient times, this juice was used for swelling, ulcers, long-term non-healing, as well as paralysis.

In fact, the flowers are not so omnipotent, but today their juice is used to remove warts, discoloration of freckles and pigment spots, calluses. In addition, with long-term non-healing ulcers, you can also use the juice of this plant.

Most often, spurge occurs in the southern parts of our country. It can be in the form of small plants, shrubs or even trees. Flowers, as a rule, are located on the very top. They are collected in inflorescences, in each of which there are ten male flowers and one female. Blossom usually blossoms in June-August.

At home, the flowers are grown and bloom is not all. So, for example, such representatives of this family bloom, like Milk Milk or Euphorbia. But the spurge of large-horned or Tirukalli is almost impossible to see blooming at home.

Reproduction of plants of the Molochaev family is carried out with the help of cuttings. But, before planting, the cuttings must be dried. And in order for the slices on the mother plant not to destroy it, it is necessary to sprinkle these places with ashes. Plants spurge resistant to drought and to dry air, but they love to be sprayed with water. But in winter, these plants should be watered fairly rarely, about once a month.
