How to pass a polygraph, and whether it is possible to deceive him
A polygraph, or so-called lie detector, is a device for recording psychophysical reactions of the human body in order to check the reliability of the answers given to the subject. He often appears in various detective
Of course, the question arises as to why it should be deceived, because an honest person who has nothing to hide, there is no need to undergo tests on a lie detector. But it is not so. Today many large companies (in order to protect confidential corporate information) require their employees to undergo such a "lice test". Or you will need to confirm your innocence in the event of a false accusation. As a rule, many such questions are asked at such sessions, including very personal ones, which, however, must be answered. How to pass a polygraph in the event that you do not want to open your soul to a stranger?
First, experts say, the highly advertised "insight" of a polygraph is greatly overstated. The maximum accuracy of the results obtained is, at best, 70%. And about the futility of attempts to deceive the lie detector to the subject is said in order to suppress his will and resistance. Therefore, the question: "Is it possible to deceive a polygraph?" We can say with certainty that preparation is necessary for this. There are several ways to mislead the lie detector:
1. Blunt your physiological reactions. This can be done either by using tranquilizers or drugs that lower blood pressure, or with the help of special compounds and ointments that dramatically reduce sweating. However, in serious cases, before passing the polygraph, the subject gives blood for analysis.
2. Suppression of emotions. This state, close to trance, can be achieved both artificially (deconcentration) and natural way (not sleeping a few days before going through the polygraph). But, as a rule, such detachment is very striking.
3. Artificial stimulation of the desired reaction. Pain stimulation, multiplication of many-valued numbers in the mind, disturbing images and memories - all this causes a brief increase in pressure and an increase in the pulse, which the polygraph registers as a reaction to a significant phenomenon or object. Slowly exhaling, on the contrary, will slow down the heart rate and help not give out excitement.
