How to keep a readers' diary correct

At the end of the school year, many teachers give the students lists of literature that should be studied during the holidays. However, the book is required not only to read. Teachers require that the material studied be included in the readers' diary. Unfortunately, many children do not cope with this task, because they do not know how to properly keep a readers' diary and what it is in general.

Who needs a readers' diary

Some parents are negative about the conduct of the BH. Very often you can hear the phrase: "How do I keep a reader's diary for a child, even if I sometimes do not remember the name of the author or heroes of the read work?" I liked it, remembered it, did not like it, why keep it in memory, and, in general, Reads the sticks. " Unfortunately, such statements can be heard quite often. Based on this, we can conclude that we read only for the sake of minute entertainment. However, this is not quite true.

The general school curriculum includes works that teach children kindness, understanding, relationships and other necessary qualities of an intellectually developed person. In addition, the purpose of the readers' diary is not at all to develop a love for reading in a child. As a rule, children read any work (even a fairy tale) in order to learn something interesting, about what they had not heard before. In addition, many educational institutions hold contests, quizzes, or marathons, where children will have to remember once read. For example, to tell a fairy tale, a riddle, to answer the question about a certain hero. And how can they do this if the material they read has long since flown out of memory? If the kid will know how to maintain a readers' diary and use this knowledge, then the information will be available to him at any time.

What is the reader's diary for?

The reader diary is a kind of crib that will help the child remember all the material ever read. In addition, BH teaches children to analyze the work, brief conclusions from the read. After all, it is the pupils of the junior school who are given the most difficult. Studying works, writing a short content in BH, the child trains and writing skills. Also, memory is trained, because after recording the names of the main characters and the author, different dates, the content of the text, the child better remembers them. Among other things, parents, monitoring the conduct of BH, can understand what genre is more interested in the child and what should be paid attention. Now we need to figure out how to keep a readers' diary.

Keeping a readers' diary

In principle, BH is an ordinary notebook in which the student writes down his thoughts, some quotations from the work, a summary, the names of the author and the main characters. The simplest model is when a sheet is divided into two columns, in one of which the name of the work is written, in the other - its conclusions. However, this scheme is more understandable for the older generation, for babies it does not fit. How to keep a children's diary? In principle, and in this there is nothing complicated. However, it will be difficult for the child to design such a model. It is better to do this with your parents. So, take a simple student's notebook (it is better not so thin) and draw it into several columns:

  • Date of reading the work;
  • name;
  • FULL NAME. The author;
  • Names of heroes;
  • About what the product.

Being engaged in this regularly, the child fixes the material read and in the future can easily answer any question on the work.

How to use

It is desirable to fill in the black hole immediately after reading the work or the next day, having the text at hand to recall the most important points. From time to time, you need to look through the completed pages to refresh the memory and fix the impression of the work. At the end of the black hole, you should make a content page, where the names of the books read and the page number with their description will be entered. Thus, it will be much easier to navigate in the BH.
