Repair of hydraulic jack. Causes of breakdowns and their elimination

In all works, where the cargo needs to be raised to insignificant height, a hydraulic jack is used.

Most often it can be seen in locksmith workshops, construction sites, equipment repair shops.

But, like in any other mechanism, its work is malfunctioning, and then repairing the hydraulic jack is inevitable.

The unit operates on liquid, therefore the main malfunction of such a lifting mechanism is the leakage of oil. Due to the insufficient amount of oil, air enters the working cavity, which slows down or makes the lift impossible.

The arising problems can be solved in one of three ways:

• Go to the workshop;
• Repair the hydraulic jack with your own hands ;
• Throw out the old gear and buy a new one.

Most often the most simple and less expensive way is chosen - repair on their own.

To determine the cause of the failure, the jack must be disassembled. The old liquid is drained into a specially prepared container. Next, you need to remove the pistons and inspect them for rust.

The most important detail in the construction of jacks is the stock. It is checked for curvature. If there is a deformation, then we can state with certainty that repair of the hydraulic jack is impossible.

It is necessary to inspect the valve that transmits oil. It can also fail because of mechanical deformation. In this case, it is replaced with a new one. But most often the valve is just dirty, the ball is loosely seated in the saddle, so a leakage occurs.

After disassembling the jack, thoroughly rinse all the parts from dirt and oil residues.

The used oil must be drained by pumping the system with the vertical movements of the lever.

If there are cuffs, gaskets and other sealing parts, they must be completely replaced with new ones. What is this for? In any previously used gasket there is already a defect, even if it is not visible, which will necessarily manifest itself when the pressure rises.

Filled with fresh oil. This completes the repair of the hydraulic jack.

Important. Before assembling the jack it must be pumped. Bleeding will remove the remaining air from the system. If you forget to do this, the machine's performance will drop, or it will not work at all.
