How to deal with excitement in a variety of circumstances?

Excitement is an unconscious psychological state, which includes a person in the occurrence of various circumstances, most often associated with public speaking and general attention from others. How to deal with the excitement in various life situations, you can read in the manuals on self-management of many well-known psychologists. However, one knowledge is not enough, because it also requires the ability to own one's mental state.

The ability to manage oneself is one of the most difficult tasks for every person, since most people find it difficult to cope with different emotional states and, moreover, try to control them. The excitement of all manifests itself in different ways, but more often a person begins to blush, a shiver appears in the hands and voice, there is a feeling of restraint and the desire to get rid of unnecessary attention to one's own person. It should be noted that the medicine for excitement has not yet been invented by mankind, and therefore everyone finds for himself the ways by which he can maintain composure and not show his emotional state to others.

There are several general recommendations, adhering to which you can reduce the impact of your emotional state to a minimum level. So:

  1. Watch your breathing. It will be very useful to learn some techniques of yoga that will allow you to perform a number of specific exercises for a minimum of time and achieve a calm and even breathing. It is directly related to our mental state, and therefore through it you can pull yourself together and calm down.
  2. Self-suggestion with the help of internal orders. Develop for yourself several teams with a positive attitude, through which you can give an installation for certain actions. More detailed information on how to deal with excitement with the help of autosuggestion can be found in many social psychology manuals, which should be used advice.
  3. Physical activity. When agitated, the person unconsciously gets stuck, as a result of which his movements can be somewhat unnatural. Stand still is also not worth it. It's better to walk around slowly (if possible) and try to concentrate on other things, not paying attention to the surrounding people. Just need to imagine that they are not. With proper training, you can learn this.

A fairly common problem for students is that in the exam (and especially in front of it) the knowledge completely flies out of the head because of the strong excitement. This, in turn, leads to even greater psychological stress, since a person can subconsciously program himself to fail. How to cope with the excitement in the exam or reduce its level to a minimum? In order that this does not happen, you should, first of all, in advance give yourself a psychological attitude to the fact that on any issue of the exam you can calmly and regularly give the correct answer. In no case should we concentrate on failure.

Almost half of all people become excited when excitement starts, and awareness of this further aggravates the process. Redness of the cheeks is a natural reaction of the body, which arises as a result of the flow of blood to the upper skin. It is due to the fact that this is very noticeable, many people are worried about the question of how not to blush with excitement and maintain a natural complexion. The answer here also lies on the surface and directly depends on how much a person can control his emotional state.

Unfortunately, no one has yet come up with an effective universal recipe for unrest, so everyone decides how to cope with the excitement for himself. Some people prefer to relieve psychological stress with the help of alcohol, but this is not recommended, as this can turn into a pernicious habit.

Thus, summing up all of the above, you can draw the main conclusion: you should control your psycho-emotional state, using any opportunity, as well as gain experience in public speaking. In the end, with due zeal, you will learn to manage yourself in a variety of situations.
