How to become a deputy and what are the advantages of this provision

Probably, there is not a single person who has not heard about the beneficial status of a deputy in our country. And it is true that such a person is, first of all, a person inviolable, which means that he can not be brought to administrative or criminal responsibility in the usual way. Of course, there are exceptions on which a deputy can still be punished, however, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, this is possible only with the sanction of the legislative body of state power. Because of this, quite a lot of people are thinking about how to win a cherished mandate, because this gives the person a number of significant advantages.

So, in addition to immunity, a deputy in our country enjoys certain privileges. And for this it is not necessary to get into the Supreme Council at all, since even representatives of the legislative authority of local councils enjoy preferences when paying for public services, buying tickets for transport (road, rail, aviation), as well as receiving housing. Thus, the question of how to become a deputy is quite relevant today.

The main law that regulates the position of people's deputies in our country is the law of the Russian Federation "On Elections of Deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation", which regulates the status of the main legislators of our country sitting in the Supreme Council. As for the deputies of the regional level, here they are guided by the law of the Russian Federation "On the election of deputies of local councils". Representatives of the local legislature, in comparison with the deputies of the Upper and Lower Chambers of the Parliament, enjoy fewer benefits, but it is much easier to get a mandate for elections in the regions.

According to the law, any citizen of the Russian Federation who can meet the following requirements can become a deputy:

  1. To have Russian citizenship.
  2. Constantly reside on the territory of Russia.
  3. Be at least 21 years old.

Thus, to become a deputy theoretically enough to meet these simple requirements. However, as many understand, everything is not so simple, since the promoter must have good connections and have a firm financial position. The whole pre-election process begins with the registration of a person as a candidate for deputy. To implement this process, the candidature of a certain person must be nominated by some party, a people's association or an electoral bloc. In addition, a person can act as a self-nominated person, but for this, after submitting an application to the election commission, he must collect a certain number of electoral votes and deposit a pledge. How to become a deputy in our country can actually be learned not only from the relevant laws, but also in consultation with the election commission.

Having passed the registration procedure for candidates, it is possible to start pre-election campaigning, which should be terminated the day before the start of direct elections. It is more difficult to pass to the deputies of the Supreme Council, because this level is reached only by prominent political figures, as well as people who have quite serious connections. If you think about how to become a deputy of the State Duma, you immediately come to the conclusion that without strong ties it is simply impossible. That is why, if you have set yourself the task of becoming a deputy, you should start with local councils, and then gradually move on.

Finally, it should be noted that this status, apart from the enjoyment of rights and privileges, imposes certain obligations on a person. It should always be remembered that ordinary citizens of our country choose a deputy, and he is, in fact, their representative in state authorities. That is why one should never forget about their direct duties, which are to protect the interests of the people, and also to uphold the rights of ordinary people to more decent living conditions.

Thus, we now know how to become a deputy and what is needed for this. And since we live in an information society, knowledge here becomes the main guarantee of success. The main thing to remember is that any person can achieve the goal, but you need only perseverance, patience, and constant self-improvement of your professional qualities.
