How long the Chechen conflict lasts
The Chechen conflict is known since the XIX century. The fire of the rebellion is constantly burning, then fading, then flashing with a bright flame. The reasons for the Chechen war are worth starting to look for during the conquest of the Russian Empire by the Caucasus. Imamat Shamil, whose union included many North Caucasian peoples, was defeated by Russian troops in 1859.
Since that time, the constant confrontation between the Caucasus and Russia has lasted. The Chechen conflict changed three regimes of power in the country, but it did not become less acute. In the tsarist time expeditionary corps was sent to the mountains to solve it. Stalin solved the problem cardinally - all the people were deported to the Kazakh and Kyrgyz steppes. This happened in 1944, the formulation of the order referred to the participation of Chechens and Ingush in helping the Germans during the struggle for the Caucasus in 1942. In modern history, the Chechen conflict has resulted in two local but violent wars, one of which lasted two years 1994-1996, the other, which began in September 1999, smoldering up to now and is manifested by another terrorist attack or brutal attack of militants.
The first war ended in a shameful world for Russia, then Chechnya triumphed. 1996, at this time the first consequences of independence were revealed. The republic had no means of subsistence, pensions were no longer paid, the black market of arms and drugs began to thrive. A special place was occupied by the slave trade. Most of the gangs traded in kidnapping people with subsequent sale of them in the markets or transfer for ransom. There was a huge number of training bases and camps for mercenary terrorists from around the world.
Chechen leaders sought to destabilize the entire region of the North Caucasus. In the summer of 1999, large provocations began on the territory of Dagestan, several villages announced the creation of a zone that is subject only to Sharia law. But the hopes that the entire Dagestan will support the militants and completely shift to the side of the opposition did not materialize.
Despite the announcement of the end of the CTO on the territory of the Chechen Republic, the struggle does not stop. Strengthening the actions of the VV forces leads to new acts of terrorism. The Chechen conflict again passed into a passive stage. The fire of war is only slightly smoldering, but it is always ready to flare up with renewed vigor. Whether it is possible to find a peaceful solution to the problem is unknown.
