Why all the peoples of Russia call fraternal: history and modernity

From the history of high school history everyone knows that the Slavic peoples are fraternal. Their relationship is due to historical origin and certain stages of territorial settlement. In other words, the Slavic peoples are considered brotherly, because this fact is a historical reality. To date, there are many archaeological finds confirming the theory of kinship of all Slavic peoples. But there are multinational states that propagandize the ideology of "monotony" of completely different in essence communities.

As we know, Russians conduct their historical kinship with the Eastern Slavs, but all other peoples living on the territory of modern Russia are treated as fraternal with Russians. In this article we will try to find out why the peoples of Russia are fraternal.

The times of the Empire

In 1721 Tsar Peter the Great became the All-Russian Emperor. From this moment a completely new chapter in the history of the country begins.

By the indicated historical moment, many small states were part of the Russian Empire. In process of growth of its fighting power many people submitted to the Empire. Thus, by the end of the XIX century in Russia there was a colossal number of communities that were not Slavs. It should be noted that many peoples have remained in Russia for today. Ethnic minorities brought much new to the culture of the Empire.

It was clear that the combat power depends on the number of soldiers, so the Russian Empire tried to conquer as many territories as possible. This shows that the fraternal peoples of Russia, as they are called today, have been coexisting for many years. They not only contacted each other, but also cooperated as they participated in the life of the state. This explains why all the peoples of Russia are called fraternal.

Ideological consolidation

The kinship of nations completely different in their essence was significantly consolidated in the ideology of the Soviet power of the 20th century. In Soviet times , the slogan that "fraternal peoples are one" was chanted everywhere. Thus, the top of the Soviet government wanted to strengthen internal stability and create an entirely new social formation - the Soviet people. At the same time, ethnic features were not taken into account. All were considered equal. Such a policy largely justified itself, because during the Soviet times there were practically no issues of ethnic and racial discrimination, no clashes took place between different communities. All citizens really considered themselves "Soviet brothers".

The problem was that the USSR was a totalitarian state, therefore all political activity was carried out with violations of human rights. In fact, people could not freely learn the traditions and culture of their people, because there was a "leveling" in the country. However, this fact does not help to answer the question of why all the peoples of Russia are called fraternal.

The modern ethnic policy of the state

To date, the political course of the Russian government is directed toward the democratization of ethnic issues. In modern Russia, freedom is given for self-knowledge of its ethnic origin, culture and traditions of the native people. Nevertheless, the Russian authorities are trying in every possible way to preserve the unity of all peoples. This is done to preserve social stability within the state. Certain territorial, economic and political interests make it possible to understand why all the peoples of Russia are called fraternal. It all boils down to the presence of state interest and to ensuring a long stay within the territory of one country.

conclusions

So, in the article we found out why all the peoples of Russia are called fraternal. The reason for this are economic, political and territorial factors. In this case, the time during which the Russian peoples were part of one territorial unit plays a role. Thus, fraternal Slavic peoples have a historical relationship, and Russian - territorial-political.
