The air supercharger is the based part of the mechanism of pressurization of the car. Its main function is to create a high pressure in the intake tract of the engine. The name of the air supercharger was due to the connection with the crankshaft and the injection of air flow due to the difference in pressure. So, this device serves to cool compressed air. During its compression, the pressure drops significantly. Externally, the intercooler is a small radiator that can be airy or liquid.

The design of the air blower also assumes the presence of a special drive, through which the entire mechanism is connected to the crankshaft. The drive itself can be:

• Straight. In this case, the air supercharger (at VAZ's, including) is fixed to the crankshaft flange.
• Chain. A special metal chain is used here.
• Electric. Such a drive has a separate electric motor.
• Toothed. This is a reducer of a cylindrical design.
• The belt. As a drive, a belt is used here. It can be wedge, flat or serrated.

Application

Now the air compressor is installed not only by the hands of car owners, but also by many manufacturers still on the conveyor belt. Three main areas of application of this mechanism are divided:

• Installation of the supercharger as an element of tuning in order to improve the performance of the car.
• Serially on the assembly line.
• When releasing racing cars.

Self-installing this device on a car is the most popular method among many motorists. Especially often they are mounted by owners of domestic machines. On the conveyor, the air blower is installed very rarely. Only sports versions of the car are manned. But on racing cars, this element is simply indispensable. In each of these cases, when installing the supercharger, a special kit is used, containing all the necessary parts for the perfect operation of the whole mechanism.

In general, the scope of this element is very extensive, which has been repeatedly confirmed by many technical developments and varieties of devices.
