Homemade cookies made of oatmeal

Many children, and adults, too, do not like oatmeal porridge, but cookies cooked on the basis of the same Hercules flakes are eaten with pleasure. There are many recipes for the preparation of such cookies, and the taste of the prepared product will be significantly different.

For example, cookies made from oatmeal, cooked according to the following recipe, are very crumbly and delicate. While it has not cooled down, it remains soft inside, but after cooling it becomes dry. As an additive to the recipe you can use raisins, sliced dried fruits, nuts, grated chocolate or any other additives. But even if you do not use additional ingredients, the cookies will still turn out delicious.

We need one hundred and fifty grams of butter, one hundred grams of Hercules flakes, one hundred and fifty grams of flour, a teaspoon of baking powder, one hundred grams of powdered sugar and two tablespoons of burnt sugar. Also, if you want, you can put in a dough a hundred grams of raisins or fifty grams of nuts or grated chocolate.

There may be a question, where to get burnt sugar? We will prepare this substance with you, for this we need a spoonful of sugar and a spoonful of water.

Take a small frying pan or a saucepan with a thick bottom, pour sugar on its bottom. Put on a strong fire and melt the sugar, bringing the mass to a dark brown color. It is important not to overdo it and not to burn sugar, otherwise the cookies will turn out with a burnt taste. We remove the saucepan from the fire and wait for thirty seconds, so that the sugar mass slightly cooled. Then pour in a spoonful of boiling water and again send the pan to the fire, reducing the heat to a minimum. Constantly stirring, we wait until the sugar dissolves, and the mass does not become a thick dark syrup. Burnt sugar is ready!

Now we move flakes "Hercules" on a coffee grinder, we will get oatmeal. Butter, soften and grind with the addition of powdered sugar. Then sprinkle baking powder, floured flakes and wheat flour. Stir and pour two spoons of burnt sugar. If desired, add additional ingredients - nuts, raisins or chocolate chips. We got a soft buttery dough. If it is too sticky, then you can add a little flour.

We cover the baking tray with baking paper and start forming our cookies from the oat-flakes. We pluck off small pieces from the finished dough and roll balls, which in size should resemble a walnut. We spread the balls on a baking sheet so that there is a sufficiently large distance between the neighboring cookies. Now, each ball is prized with a fork, flattening it slightly and, at the same time, forming a pattern on top of the biscuit.

We bake cookies from the oat-flakes in the oven, heated to two hundred degrees for fifteen minutes.

And now tell you how to cook oatmeal cookies without adding flour. We need two hundred and fifty grams of oatmeal, one hundred and twenty-five grams of butter, as much sugar, half a packet of baking powder, one whole egg and one yolk. As flavor additives, we take 50 grams of almonds, lemon zest and a teaspoon of cinnamon.

We start to cook cookies with oat flakes. The easiest way is to knead the dough with a mixer, but you can, of course, manage without this device.

Soften the butter, rub it with sugar and ground almonds (nuts should be grinded on a coffee grinder). Then add the same oat flakes there and again stir well. Then add the whole egg and yolk, lemon zest and cinnamon. At the end of the process, sprinkle the baking powder. Again, all is well mixed, to obtain a homogeneous mass. From the test, we form balls, as in the previous recipe, and lay them out on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Turn the oven thermostat to 180 degrees, bake our cookies from the oats for about twenty minutes until it gets a beautiful golden color.

And here's how you can make dietary cookies from the oatmeal, which does not include sugar and butter.

We pour flakes of "Hercules" into the bowl (in this recipe it is important to use ordinary cereal, not the one that is cooked for three minutes) and pour them with steep boiling water. For 175 grams of cereal, we need two glasses of water. We leave groats for swelling. Then beat up two eggs with a pinch of salt and two boats of vegetable oil. Add this mixture to the swollen flakes. Now we need to add dried fruits and nuts to our dough, the amount of these products is determined by eye, but since we cook sugar-free cookies, it's better not to drink dried fruits. It remains to add in the dough a little soda, extinguished with lemon juice, and again mix everything thoroughly.

The dough at us will turn out non-uniform, reminding on a consistence wet sand. From it, with wet hands, we make small lozenges and bake them at a temperature of two hundred degrees for fifteen minutes.
