Holm-Zhirkovsky - Smolenskaya remote places

During the Great Patriotic War, fierce fighting was conducted in the vicinity of this settlement.

Holm-Zhirkovsky received the status of the city in 1971. In 2008, there were celebrations dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the foundation. Currently, the village is the administrative center of the Kholm-Zhirkovsky district.
