Dmitry Kvartalnov is a famous Soviet and Russian hockey player, a player of domestic and foreign clubs. After the end of sports career he became a famous coach.

Playing career

Dmitry Dmitriy Kvartalnov first came out on the ice as a professional player in the native Sunday "Chemist". The debut took place in the season 1982-83, but four more years the young hockey player could not gain a foothold in the club.

Since 1986, Dmitry Kvartalnov - hockey player, serving as the main part of "Chemist". In season 86/87 he spent 40 matches, in which he scored 11 goals and 6 assisted teammates.

The first award came to Kvartalnov in 1989. His "Chemist" won silver medals in the USSR championship, and the striker managed to score 32 (20 + 12) points. A year later Dmitri Kvartalnov not only became a bronze medalist of the Soviet Union, but also received the title of the best scorer of the tournament. In 46 games, he scored 25 times at the gate of opponents and gave 29 assists.

After playing one more season for "Chemist", Quarterly goes to seek hockey happiness over the ocean. Since he did not qualify for the NHL Draft, Dmitriy concludes a contract with the San Diego Hills Club of the IHL. This season the Russian hockey player did a wonderful job: typing in 77 matches 118 (60 + 58) points, Kvartalnov was the best rookie, scorer and league player.

Thanks to such indicators in the next season, Dmitry makes his debut in the NHL "Boston Bruins" club. For two seasons Kvartalnov spent 112 games in the most prestigious league of the world, in which he scored 42 goals and gave 49 exact gears.

In 1994, the Russian hockey player returned to Europe, where 3 seasons under the leadership of the legendary Alexander Yakushev played for the club "Ambri-Piot" from Switzerland. Then Dmitri Kvartalnov signed a three-year contract with the Austrian team "Klagenfurt".

In 1999, the Russian striker was part of the German Adler, and six months later, Yokirita from Finland.

In the 2000/01 season, the long-awaited return of Kvartalnov to his homeland for many Russian fans took place. He signed a contract with the Kazan "AK Bars", which in the next draw of the championship became a silver medalist of the Super League of Russia. After two seasons, he adds a bronze medal of this tournament to his collection of awards.

In 2004 Dmitry Kvartalnov moved to Cherepovets Severstal, for which he played an incomplete season. After that, there was a two-year period of the attacker's stay in the Wings of the Soviets. In the 2006/07 season Kvartalnov returned to Severstal, and at the end of the championship decided to end his playing career.

Team Games

For the first time in the USSR national team Kvartalnov got to the international tournament in 1989. It was the World Championship in Sweden, from which the team of the Soviet Union brought gold medals.

Two years later, the striker again takes part in the World Cup in Finland. This time his collection is replenished with a bronze award.

Dmitry Kvartalnov in 1996 for the third time went to the world championship in the Russian team. But, unfortunately, this time the medal could not be won.

Trainer's path

Coaching career Kvartalnova began in the summer of 2009, when he worked as a coach for Severstal. December 7, he was appointed chief coach of the Cherepovets team. For three seasons, Severstal under his leadership once managed to reach the playoffs.

In April 2012 Dmitry Kvartalnov became the coach of "Siberia". He worked in Novosibirsk for two seasons, both times his team went into the playoffs. But in 2014 Kvartalnov is dismissed for family reasons and returns to Moscow.

And 5 days later, the true cause of the dismissal is revealed - Quartalnov signed a contract with the capital's "army men". CSKA Moscow with the new coach twice won the Continental Cup twice, and also played in the Gagarin Cup final.
