Gurami marble. The fish is marble gourami. Reproduction and content

The aquarium in the house is not only a pretty exquisite piece of jewelry (if it is, of course, artfully equipped and carefully taken care of by it). Fish as pets are a spectacle that they never tire of watching. And doctors advise to buy an aquarium and for medicinal purposes:

  • Those who are prone to depression or have heart disease;
  • Hyperactive children;
  • An autistic child or a patient with cerebral palsy;
  • Allergic people with a reaction to animal hair.

Fish - a worthy alternative to the same turtle, which is not too active and gives much less emotional impact when living in a house.

Most often beginners aquariums populate glass houses guppies or swordsmen; The bravest of newcomers dare to buy a scalar. But they are all small fry. If you want something more, but with a beautiful coloring, but that the care was not too complicated, pay attention to the fish called gurami marble.

Origin

These fish come from Indochina. They are freshwater, and live either in stagnant waters - fresh lakes, dams and stakes - or in rivers with a slow current. The Europeans brought the gurus in 1896, so he has a fairly large "experience" of living in aquariums. An unusual kind of fish pushed breeders to work on a variety of appearance, and now these inhabitants of aquariums flaunt flowers that nature has not endowed them with. However, it is an aquarium fish with marble gurami painted naturally: it occurs quite often in its homeland, although the color may be different - the shades depend on the specific conditions of life.

Unusual appearance

All species of these fish have elongated, elongated body, flat at the sides. The lower fin begins near the thoracic, and ends near the caudal fin. And the pectoral fins are modified into something that looks like long, the length of the whole body, the thread, and this is not an ornament, like, for example, the veil of some goldfish, but an additional tactile organ.

In nature gurus rarely grow more than 10-11 cm, but in the aquarium there are specimens up to 15 cm. Coloring can be, as already said, several shades, but there must be spots or strips. It is not for nothing that this gurami is marble. The photo shows well the divorces characteristic of this stone.

Pledge of a successful purchase

If you have not already encountered such aquarium inhabitants, be careful when purchasing them. Many refuse to purchase, focusing on the faded color of fish. This is not quite the right criterion: in places of sale gurami marble somewhat loses its colorfulness, because it is in a stressful condition. You need to look closely at the fins: they should not look shabby or torn, should be well trimmed, and mustaches must be long. If they are smaller than the body length of the fish or are broken off - by gourami or suffer from poisoning with poor-quality food (and constantly), or experiencing beriberi. Of course, you can get such fish, but it will take time and effort; And if they are at the same time carriers of any infection, then infect the rest of the inhabitants of the home pond.

Quarantine overtreatment

In principle, not only to buy correctly, it is also important to put it right. Sam marble gurami very successfully resists almost all bacterioses, but can be their carrier. And without temporary isolation, it will re-erupt the rest, less stable inhabitants. So seven days a new fish is better to hold in a separate container, every day arranging antiseptic "baths". They add antibiotics (biomycin or oxytetracycline), a little pharmacy green, methylene blue or rivanol. The new marble gum should be in the solution for 10 to 20 minutes, and in between - rest in warm, fresh and clean water.

The Right Glass House

Since the marble gurami - a small fish, the aquarium will not be too close. Two or three individuals need at least 40 liters of water. The soil at the bottom of the "house" should be dark; Plants are required not only bottom, but also floating. For good development and increased resistance to disease, marbled giraffes need sunlight - at least in the morning.

These water inhabitants are labyrinthine, that is, they need ordinary air. In order to swallow it, they rise to the surface of the water. So experienced aquarists advise to equip a trihogaster house (this scientific name is gourami) a special lid that will protect them from cold air. Glass is not good: it blocks the full access of oxygen, and fish can suffocate. If there is no lid, simply place the aquarium away from the window.

Grammar marbles are not capricious and in food. He uses both dry food and live food; Not bad eats ordinary manna porridge (only it must be scalded) and for some reason likes canned green peas (naturally, pressure).

Additional bonuses

In nature, gurami marble chooses standing water for life, and therefore in domestic breeding is very unreadable. Some special claims to water quality (oxidizability, rigidity, pH, the presence of nitrates) in trihogasterov no. Of course, do not pour water from the tap, but you will not have to "bother" too much. You just need to make sure that the water in the aquarium does not lower the temperature below 20 degrees - after all, the fish are tropical and need some warmth.

Another nice feature of these fish is the lack of need for constant aeration. So you do not have to buy a pump, and the aquarium can be located at least in the bedroom, even in the nursery - the noise of the motor will not interfere at night.

It greatly facilitates the maintenance of gourami by their natural struggle against intrusive "neighbors". Thus, small snails, which grow very fast and can consume all the plants in the aquarium, are readily eaten by trichogaster. If they are hungry, they can destroy the hydra, accidentally caught in the aquarium with food.

Neighborliness is pleasant and unpleasant

One of the most important questions when buying trihogasters is the question of what kind of fish get along with gourami. In principle, they are very peaceful and peaceful, they can be combined with small species, and with fairly large ones. Of course, predators are excluded. But there are more favorable combinations, there are less. Very well the gurus get along with neons, the same scalars, riddles, ancistrus, minors, apistograms and corridors. But rather badly trihogastery get along with aggressive species - psevdotrofeusami, parrots, cichlids, goldfish and labiodochromis. Before the murder, the matter is most likely not reached, but everyone will feel uncomfortable.

Specificity of behavior

Trihogastery - curious fish. Best of all, they study the neighborhood with their thread-mustache, so every new object in the aquarium is felt by them. The same applies to the new "settlers", who at first can react nervously enough.

Funny feature gourami marble, which is very interesting to watch - the simultaneous lifting of all fish of this species to the top of the aquarium for a breath of air, and then the same amicable descent. Something like the performance of the team on synchronized swimming. Even the reproduction of marble gouchers is quite peaceful. Several males organize their "nests" at a fairly close distance, and this does not end with mutilation. Some border disputes occur in them, but they do not lead to traumatism (and even more so death).

If you want more of them

It will be necessary to acquire a separate "pool". By volume, in principle, you can take the same as in which you contain them usually, and the soil can not be laid, but the plants are necessary. From their scraps and foam, males build a nest. To "spur" the reproduction of gourami marble, water should be heated to five degrees. Children are usually nursed by the Pope, but if the female is not set off, she too will take the feasible part. After the deposition of caviar fry appear in a couple of days, and adults can (and need to) leave for a week, a maximum of ten days. Then the parental feelings disappear, the gurus can use their offspring for food, so it's better to transplant them into the usual abode. Part of the water from the aquarium is removed (the total level is required to be lowered by at least 10 cm), until the labyrinthine gills of the small ones form a complete solution so that they can capture air from the surface. At this time they are fed infusoria and live dust; Yolk of boiled eggs will be useful.

What are these fish sick?

Despite the fact that it is resistant to unhealthy gurami marble, diseases sometimes overtake him. This happens especially often if the nutrition of fish deteriorates, they are not properly contained or have already been planted sick individuals. The most common lymphocytosis. It is accompanied by the appearance of open wounds, nodules or flat swellings, sometimes the diseased fish seem to be sprinkled with crumbled flour. Second place among the painful lesions is pseudomonosis, causing the appearance of darkened spots, from which ulcers are subsequently formed. Aeronomoz is also common. They suffer from fish living in too small and densely populated tanks, so they are weakened. Such inhabitants cease to eat, scales are lifted from them, the belly swells and starts to bleed, they lie on the bottom.

All diseased fish should be planted in a separate aquarium; Most of them will die, but uninfected individuals will remain healthy, and patients have a good chance of recovery.

However, if you follow the "pool" and quality of feed, you will hardly face such problems. And the rest of the gurus will only please you - and beauty, and peculiar habits.
