Buttercups. Planting and caring for the plant

Buttercup is a beautiful flower that lands in gardens and flower beds around the world. The flowers of the buttercup are so beautiful that they are used for making magnificent flower compositions, including wedding bouquets. In the scientific literature buttercup is called Ranunculus, and today more than 400 species of this plant are isolated. Despite such variety of varieties, in flower shops it is possible to find not so many varieties of buttercup of Asian, the most widespread grade.

As for the color palette, it is also very diverse: you can see white, yellow, and red buttercups. Planting and caring for the flower is not very difficult. It can grow not only on a flower bed in the open ground, but also at home in pots. The most beautiful buttercups look like groups in the flowerbed. If you decide to grow a flower at home in a pot, give preference to low-growth varieties. More popular still is the garden's buttercup, planting and care for which are somewhat different from home care.

Types of buttercups

In general, several species of this plant are distinguished: chalmoid, Persian, French and pion-like buttercups.

Chalmoid flowers remind, as it is possible to guess from the name, a turban. The head of this flower has a spherical shape and is large in size. Persian buttercup - short. His flowers are simple, but there are also terry inflorescences. As for the French buttercup, its flowers are half-mahogany, and the flowers of the pion-shaped representative of the plant are fully dressed. The most beautiful are the pion-shaped buttercups.

Planting and care

The key to successful cultivation of the buttercup is the correct choice of a place for planting. If the place is chosen successfully, the flowers will work for you all summer. It is important to remember that buttercups love bright light, so they should be planted in a sunny place and in fertile soil, away from drafts.

The soil for planting the plant should be prepared from autumn. First you need to make compost or manure in the soil. In the spring, bone meal should be added , and only in spring the root cones are planted, previously soaked in cold water.

Plant flowers about 30 centimeters apart, to a depth of 5 centimeters. Buttercups (planting and care, transplanting and reproduction of flowers) will give the gardener a real pleasure if he follows all the mentioned rules. In addition, to the fruits of your work probably pleased you, buttercups must be regularly fed and watered. However, when buds appear, watering should be reduced. Buttercup can suffer from the rot of root cones, which occurs in cases of too frequent and abundant watering. It is better to start it only after germination.

Usually buttercups blossom throughout the summer, but in specialized shops flowering plants grown in the room can be bought in the winter. By the way, wedding and simply festive bouquets are increasingly added to buttercups!
