Methylene blue as a universal remedy
Methylene blue was first discovered in the 19th century. Small dark green crystals with a distinct sparkle of bronze were first used only in the printing industry. With the help of green powder, you could give a pleasant bluish tint to the usual sheet of paper. It was interesting, quite new and relevant at the time. But the years have gone by, and scientists have found new applications for an unusual substance.
But these possibilities of the drug are not limited. In addition to treating skin problems, it can neutralize the effect of certain toxic substances. It is used for poisoning with nitrates, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide and various cyanides. The agent is able to neutralize the poison, which contains any derivatives of these substances.
In medicine, methylene blue is often used: an aqueous solution for oral administration, and 1% solution of an alcohol-based powder for external treatment. Unlike the crystals themselves, it has a pronounced blue color.
Apply the product with a cotton swab, gently working gradually first the affected areas, and then the adjacent part of the skin. After use, the substance is difficult to wash off the surface of the skin. Everything that comes into contact with it becomes blue. Yes it does not matter. After all, only sick people use the drug, and during the illness a person does not think about appearance. All his thoughts and desires are connected only with recovery. For the use of the drug "Methylene blue" the instruction is given by the attending physician. It must be clearly adhered to in order to avoid undesirable consequences.
In addition to medicinal purposes, in medicine methylene blue is used for clarity in the diagnosis of certain diseases. After applying inside, it stains the urine in blue. This makes it possible to trace the movement of fluid in the body and to conclude how well the kidneys perform the function assigned to them.
These are only those capabilities and areas of application of methylene blue, which we know. But science does not stand still. Perhaps, in the near future scientists will discover some new properties of this chemical substance.
