Grandmaster is a title. It is awarded to different people. Currently, this term is most often used only in chess or checkers. In the past, he had other meanings, at the moment already obsolete and almost out of use. Among them is the head of the spiritual order, as well as the head of the craft workshop of any type of orientation. If the average manager could receive his position in various ways that do not provide for skill in the case that he is to manage, the grandmaster simply had to be considered a real expert in his business. In another way, getting the title was almost impossible.

In this kind of intellectual sport there is a whole gradation of different titles. They begin with the 5th rank. This if you do not take into account persons who do not have any rank. And it ends at once with three grandmasters - ordinary, international and having a prefix "super". These are very honorable titles, which are incredibly difficult to achieve. Some people are interested in how to become a grandmaster. On the one hand, it's relatively simple - you need to constantly develop your skills, improve and, of course, regularly participate in tournaments in which such titles are appropriated. But, on the other hand, all this is very difficult, because you can not devote so much time and energy to the chosen occupation. Considerable attention is paid to the chess player's age. The younger he is, the more significant this title is.

Another version of this title was possessed by people who are the leaders of the workshops of artisans in the Middle Ages. Within the framework of this concept, the grandmaster is the person making the decision for all employees of a certain group. They rarely performed work independently, answering more for control and searching for profitable orders, but it was physically impossible to get the title without having the necessary skills. That is, such a grandmaster, if you take a shop of blacksmiths, you could forge an excellent blade yourself. But they were more valued for their leadership abilities. There are a lot of good masters, but managers who are really versed in the matter and able to build all the work so that the whole shop has received a significant profit is very small. Generally grandmasters received a percentage of all the works performed by subordinates, but this is not necessary. Some preferred to earn their own bread by themselves, simultaneously solving the affairs of the shop.

Proceeding from all the above, we can conclude that the grandmaster is a man who achieved some outstanding indicators in a particular field of activity. Very rarely this title was used in a different meaning. There is a board game with this name and a 1972 film. Achieve this title is very difficult. Unlike many other cases, one must really be the best in some field of activity, and this must be recognized by other masters who have already been recognized before.
