Giros: recipe for cooking at home

Giros is a pita that is stuffed with meat cooked on a vertical spit. To create this dish, both beef and chicken can be used. Although in our time you can see and vegetarian gyros, his recipe will be considered in our article. But let's start with the meat option.

Meat recipe

To prepare you need:

• two tbsp. Spoons of olive oil;

• ¼ cup of lemon juice;

• three medium cloves of garlic;

• three chicken breasts (about gram 650);

• a tablespoon of lemon (freshly squeezed) juice.

1. In a bowl, whip butter, salt, lemon juice, pepper, vinegar, garlic (crushed) and sugar. In a separate container, pour in three st. Spoons of the marinade obtained. In the remaining, add yogurt, 1 tsp. Salt. Put the chicken in the marinade, cover with a film. Put in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

3. Make the sauce. Rub cucumber, put in a bowl, add salt. Set aside for 15 minutes, strain, remove liquid.

4. Then mix the cucumber with yogurt, lemon juice, vinegar, dill, black pepper, garlic (crushed).

To prepare the gyros, the recipe of which we now describe, you will need:

• two pits;

• three pinches of black pepper;

• one tomato;

• 120 grams of beef;

• two pinches of lemon pepper;

• 60 grams of feta cheese ;

• 3 drops of Worcestershire sauce;

• pinch of paprika;

• a spoonful of garlic powder;

• Olive oil (0.5 tbsp.);

• 180 grams of olives.

For the sauce you will need:

• one cucumber;

• two drops of white wine vinegar;

• One container of Greek yogurt (240 grams);

• half a teaspoon of salt and dill;

• half a red onion.

Preparation

1. We begin to describe the recipe for the Greek gyro from the filling. First heat the oil in a frying pan, add beef, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, lemon pepper, black pepper, garlic powder (0.5 tsp). Cook on low heat until cooked. After you leave the resulting sauce "Dzadziki" cool down.

2. Cut half a cucumber and 1/4 of onions into small cubes, then mix with yoghurt. Then add salt, vinegar, dill. Stir.

This option of cooking the dish will appeal to those who do not eat meat. This gyros is vegetarian.

To prepare you need:

• one medium cucumber;

• a glass of feta cheese;

• a glass of cherry tomatoes;

• Pit (4 pcs.);

• two glasses of romaine lettuce;

• a cup of Greek yogurt (2%);

• nine cloves of garlic (one chopped, and eight whole);

• 2 tsp. Fresh lemon juice;

• black pepper;

• 330 grams of small potatoes (red);

• salt;

• One-fourth of red onions;

• two tbsp. L. + Two tsp. olive oil.

The process of creating a dish

1. Preheat the oven.

2. Grate the cucumber on the grater, squeeze it through the cheesecloth.

3. Mix yogurt, garlic (crushed), salt, pepper, olive oil (2 tsp), lemon juice in a bowl with cucumber. Then set aside the container.

4. Pour the potatoes into the pot and pour it with water. Cover with a lid, bring to a boil on high heat. Then reduce the flame. Cook on low heat until cooked (about 20 minutes).

5. At this time, pour the oil (2 tablespoons) into the frying pan and lay out cloves of garlic (8 pieces). Cook over medium heat until golden. The process will take approximately five minutes.

6. Then drain the potatoes. ¼ cup potato broth pour into a glass.

7. Return the potatoes to the pan.
