General Rokhlin: life and death

Not only during his short life, but also after his death, General Rokhlin attracted the close attention of the people. His life's journey was in the striving and struggle aimed at improving the quality of life throughout the country. A strong army, a developed science, a stable economy are all for the good of mankind.

Lev Yakovlevich Rokhlin was born on June 6, 1947 in Kazakhstan. Mother brought up the future general, as well as his three brothers, one. Rokhlin's father was detained for political reasons shortly after the birth of his son. At the 10th year of the Leo's life the family of Rokhliny moved to Tashkent. It was there that the future famous general spent his youth.

Beginning with the school bench, Rokhlin was highly successful and efficient. This allowed him to get a gold medal. The future general received the subsequent education in the higher combined-arms command school of Tashkent, and the higher military education - in the Academy named after him. Frunze, as well as at the Academy under the General Staff.

Having received a general military qualification, the young officer refused to put his leave and immediately went to the service. By distribution, he was in a group of Soviet troops in East Germany. Service threw Rokhlin from the Polar region to the Turkestan district.

From 1982 to 1984, the future general Rokhlin served in Afghanistan. He began as commander of a regiment, but in the second year of service in his submission was a division. I personally took part in the battles and was severely wounded several times. Nevertheless, the command decided that he did not cope with one military operation and as a consequence in 1983 he was removed from his post and appointed deputy commander of the motorized rifle regiment. But for an impeccable service in less than a year, General Lev Rokhlin is restored in his previous position.

The end of 1994 - the beginning of 1995 fall to the service in the region of Chechnya. He headed a separate corps on the territory of the republic, participated in a number of operations to capture areas of Grozny and in campaigns organized for negotiations with militants. Having many awards received over the years of service, from the title of "Hero of the Russian Federation" for taking part in the battles in Grozny, General Rokhlin refused.

Not stopping at what has been achieved, he begins work on his political career. Already in 1995 he was elected a deputy of the State Duma of the second convocation. In 1996, General Rokhlin joined the political party "Our Home - Russia". This tandem brought him the post of chairman of the Duma on defense.

September 1997 was a turning point in the career of the general. He takes a fateful decision to create his own political party. He was one of the strongest opposition leaders of the time, who worried about the fate of the army and the country as a whole. However, the conversations of Rokhlin's colleagues and colleagues that a coup is being prepared in his person with the aim of eliminating Boris Yeltsin from the post of Russian President caused Rokhlin to be removed from his post.

On the night of July 3, 1998, a politician died of a gunshot wound in a suburban house in Moscow. The charge was brought to his wife, Tamara, but who killed General Rokhlin is not exactly established.

As a result of long court proceedings, Tamara Rokhlin, who refuses to admit her guilt, was sentenced to 4 years' imprisonment on probation and to 2.5 years of probation.

Some facts concerning the life and death of the general remain in question. Whether he wanted to make a coup, who killed L. Ya. Rokhlin and for what purpose, it worries the inhabitants of Russia to this day.
