So, in the distant 1969 at the studio "Soyuzmultfilm" for the first time the children's animated film "Crocodile Gena" was released. I shot this very wonderful cartoon of our childhood director Roman Kachanov. Inspiration, however, he drew from the book of Edward Uspensky "Crocodile Gena and his friends", written in 1966. Subsequently, Gena and Cheburashka appeared three times on the big screen: new series were shot with the heroes who loved them - Cheburashka, Shapoklyak and Cheburashka Goes to School.
So why did Soviet children fall in love with this inseparable couple? Yes, everything is very simple. Gena and Cheburashka are very kind and honest, they are always ready to come to the aid of those in distress, the doors of their house are open to all their friends. And it was exactly what the pioneers and Octoberas dreamed of becoming. But years and decades passed, the Soviet Union, its ideology, there are no pioneers and October, there are no longer any, and modern children continue to love these heroes. Gena and Cheburashka still remain an example of friendship, unselfishness and good nature. Many parents prefer to begin to acquaint their kids with this cartoon, leaving for later Disney masterpieces. Good and judicious crocodile Gena, naive, impressionable, affectionate and sympathetic Cheburashka find a way to any heart!
And what Cheburashka and the crocodile Gena are so externally interesting! Gena is a reptile walking on two legs in a suit and hat, a zoo worker. And who does he work there? Crocodile. Already here the sense of humor of the author is just on top! And Cheburashka, who is he? Lop-eared, fluffy animal from the tropics, obevshiesya oranges and cheburahnuvshiysya with the store shelves. His first place of residence is a telephone booth. So funny and touching ... Of course, in addition to them in the cartoon there are other heroes: the noble lion Chandra in the cylinder and the pince-nez, the harmful old woman Shapoklyak with her eternal accomplice - the Larissa's wing, the glorious girl Galya, the little dog Tobik, the dvoechnik Dima, the round honors Marusya, Giraffe Anyuta and the reserve monkey Maria Frantsevna. They are all wonderful, funny and sweet, but still the greatest love of children and their parents is used by Gene and Cheburashka. Yes, it's not surprising, because children see in them good friends and an example for imitation, and parents ... Parents, thanks to these two inseparable companions, have the opportunity to plunge into their childhood, to recall with what joy and impatience they fled to the TV, or how with tears they urged their mom and dad to switch the channel from football or the popular soap opera at the time Cartoon, or how to try to learn the lessons as soon as possible in order to have time to go to bed with your favorite heroes before going to bed. After all, each of us has such memories, just someone they are quite close, and someone is hidden deep, but they are all. From these memories he breathes warmth and comfort, grandmother's pies, tenderness of mother's hands, velvet evenings in the circle of a table lamp for unhurried conversations and a cup of tea. How often do we think about getting back there for a minute? And from there, from the depths of time waving to us the constant friends of our childhood - Cheburashka with Gena ...
