Roman Kachanov - Russian film director, screenwriter and actor: biography, creativity

The viewer, whose profession is not connected with the cinema, after or before watching the film, the maximum that can know is the names of the actors and the summary of the script. But one of the main creators of the film is the director. A person who determines the main idea of the work and guides the process of creation. The humor on which the films "Down House", "DMB", "Gene Beton" are based, passes a thin line that separates the ridiculous from vulgar. This line was able to find an extraordinary screenwriter, director and actor Roman Kachanov.

Heredity

In 1967, the first puppet cartoon "Varezhka" was released on Soviet television screens, and it received national recognition. Its creator was the director-animator Roman Kachanov. In the same year, the Kachanovs family celebrates the birth of his son, as it will later become known, the same talented filmmaker as his father. The boy was also called Roman.

The first work activity for a young man began in the eighth grade, when he decided to work as a postman. However, studies and early rises at half past four in the morning were hard, and a gift of fate was the announcement that a famous science fiction writer needed an assistant to write scripts. This writer was Kir Bulychev. In one of the interviews, Roman Kachanov shared his memories that at that time the profession of the literary secretary was not prestigious, akin to a janitor or cleaner, or the case - a respected postman. But the guy already then decided to tie the future with the movie, and the experience he could get, working as a science fiction assistant, he needed.

Self-education

The novel was a late child, therefore grew and developed independently. Influence of the father in children's upbringing, of course, has postponed the imprint on the choice of the future profession of the guy. However, Roma understood that he was not a multiplier, because there were no artistic skills. And he decided to cheat how to continue his father's beginnings - to create a film production, but by writing scripts and translating them on the set.

Earning little money from Kira Bulychev, the guy starts to attend director's courses in parallel, where he not only studies with A. Mitt, E. Ryazanov and G. Danelia, but also can watch premieres of foreign films that were not available for the Soviet audience at that time.

Roman Kachanov, as a teenager, loved to read. And not pieces, but whole collections of works. It was necessary for him to track creativity of authors at different stages of their destinies. For example, how FM Dostoevsky displayed his experiences from the first volume written to the moment he got into prison and so on.

Getting a specialty

At age 17, with a certain amount of knowledge behind him in directing, Roman entered the VGIK at the Faculty of Screenwriters. His fellow students were R. Litvinova, T. Keosayan, F. Bondarchuk, I. Okhlobystin and many other professionals of contemporary Russian cinema. Friendship with famous people will later continue in the life of the director, screenwriter and actor.

Kachanov began to practice writing scenarios in his student years. His nickname for the cartoons created by him is Roman Gubin, so that the knowledgeable people of the beginning author and his father would not confuse him. After graduating from VGIK, the young man got into the "Ladya" association at the Gorky film studio, whence he left in a year.

First works

The film "Do not Ask Me About Nothing" is the first film in which Roman Kachanov is a director and screenwriter. Together with Ivan Biryukov they decided to make a film "about the physiological functions of a person", as the critics determined. The plot is based on a story where the main character, in an interesting position, tries to identify the father of her unborn child. For this role she has two applicants, although both a priori can not have children.

In the rental of the film was released in 1995, although the shooting ended in 1991. In this break, Roman's debut was the film-tale "The Freak", shown in the Moscow cinema in 1994 and on the federal channel.

But a year before the movie "Urod," Kachanov buried his mother and father. Until 1997, he shot only music videos and promotional stories. In 1998, according to the scenario of I. Okhlobystin, he directed the comedy "Maximilian".

Personal life

Roman Kachanov, whose photo attracts the views of many fans, was not deprived of women's attention and in life. In 1998, he married the actress Anna Buklovskaya.

A happy couple had two daughters: Polina and Alexandra. However, the couple disintegrated in 2003. The second wife was Angelina Chernova, by profession also an actress. But this is not the only coincidence, from the second marriage, Roman also has two daughters. One girl, the eldest, was named after Gara's grandmother, and the younger one was named Dina.

Roman Kachanov: "DMB" and "Down House"

The films that brought fame to Roman, marked with diplomas, prizes still quoted in colloquial usage are "DMB" and "Down House". Scenarios for both films were written by I. Okhlobystin.

The events of the first motion picture unfold around three draftees caught in the urgent army for various reasons and with their problems. Before the time of their oath, incredible adventures await them. In this film Kachanov Roman Romanovich played his first role. In 2013, according to one magazine, the film was included in the top 100 among Russian films.

"Down House" - a controversial adaptation of the "Idiot" FM Dostoevsky. Film screening aroused a lot of negative criticism about the banter of the classical work. Roman wrote that his goal was to bring to the viewer the modern insane time projected through the heroes of the "Idiot", and the sarcastic syllable of FM Dostoyevsky. In the film, Barbara Brylska starred.

Roman Kachanov: movies

Since 2000, all the films produced under the direction of Roman are awarded with various awards and prizes. After the acclaimed film "Down House" in 2004, the drama appeared on the screen, and according to Roman - the comedy, "Arye". In the same year at the Russian Film Festival the work received the "Best Film" award (in Blagoveshchensk). The plot line is fictitious - it tells about a sick doctor who goes to Israel to meet his first love.

Two years in a row (since 2006) Roman Kachanov as a director participates in the creation of such films as "Take Tarantino" and "Troll", and in the last film also acts as a screenwriter.

In 2014, another furor among amateur filmmakers is the comedy fairy tale "Gene Beton." The script was based on a novel by Andrei Kivinov, who turned from a criminal, humorless plot into a funny film with a happy ending. For more than five years, he was waiting for his release, "Gene Concrete." Star cast and excellent direction brought Roman Kachanov the next prizes at the festival "Smile, Russia".
