French footballer Ali Sissoko

Ali Sissoko is a French football player who is currently speaking for the English Aston Villa. He was 29 this year, however, unfortunately, for him the peak of his career was a relatively long time ago. Ali Sissoko plays in the position of the left defender, and if you want to know about the sudden rise and the sudden drop of this player, then this article is for you.

Carier start

Ali Sissoko was born on September 15, 1987 in France, to a family of Senegalese immigrants. At the age of eight he entered the football academy of the tiny club "Blois", based in the boy's hometown. It was an amateur club, as well as the next, in which Sissoko moved in four years. In "Floya Fute" he spent four more years, until in 2003 he did not watch the club of one of the lower French divisions "Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle", in whose academy he began to study.

Only in 2004, the 17-year-old was able to move to the second league club, "Genyon," Ali Sissoko signed a professional contract with him in 2005, but he did not get a seat in the base. Moreover, he was in deep reserve and was transferred to a double. Until 2007, Ali received the practice game only in the second team, coming out on the field in the season-06/07 only twice. However, the progress of the young man was evident, so in the next season it was released much more often. He spent 23 matches and attracted the attention of Portuguese scouts, who in the summer of 2008 invited a 28-year-old defender to Setubalskaya "Vitoria". The contract of the Frenchman with "Genyon" ended, and Ali moved to Portugal as a free agent.

Transfer to Vitoria

Transfer to "Vitoria" went to the benefit of Ali Sissoko: the player started to progress quite quickly and already in the first half of the season he reserved a place for himself at the base, having played in 18 matches. Scouts of one of the strongest clubs in the country "Porto" were not napping, and already in the winter of 2009 young talent went to conquer new peaks - "Vitoria" received 300 thousand euro for it.

A sharp rise in Porto

Ali Sissoko, whose photos began to appear in all sports magazines, just surprised the world of football. He came to the top club at the age of 21, having played at a high level for only six months, and immediately began to work miracles. He played 23 matches, seriously participated in the fact that his team won both the championship of Portugal and the Portuguese Cup. Naturally, interest in him was simply incredible - the leading clubs of Europe lined up to sign Sissoko, and in June 2009 the transfer to Milan was almost a solved matter, but fell through the medical examination that Ali could not pass. His health did not satisfy "Milan", but his native "Lyon" gladly agreed to pay 16 million euros for the rising star. So at 22, Sissoko returned to a comfortable environment in the status of a young talent. What went wrong?

Return to France

In the "Lyon" Sissoko started perfectly: in the first season he played in 48 games, scoring one goal. In the second and third seasons he was also in the club on leading roles, however, the excitement around his figure was asleep, Ali stopped progressing, and over time, his game became noticeably obvious decline. And in the summer of 2012 the Frenchman, in the status of a rather mediocre player, moved to Valencia for six million euros.

The game for "Valencia"

In the "Valencia" was clearly expected that they will come to the same Sissoko, which shone in the "Port" and at the beginning of the "Lyon", but it was already a completely different player. Therefore, having played 36 matches, Ali went on loan to Liverpool, where he played 19 games for six months, not impressed by the English. They refused to buy the rights to the player, but the impression he made on "Aston Villa", which paid two and a half million euros to acquire a defender.

Moving to England

For "Aston Villa" Sissoko played one season, going on the field 27 times. After that, he was sent to the port for half a year, where he showed incredible football at the time, but only appeared on the field in two matches. Returning back to England, Sissoko played 11 matches this season for the club, the contract with which he has calculated until the summer of 2018.

National team appearances

For the first time in the French team, Ali was called in March 2010, but he was able to make his debut for the team only in August 2010 in a friendly match against the Norwegian team. Unfortunately, this performance was the only one in his career: more in the team Sissoko was not called.
