Four Hannibal Lecturer: actors of films and serials about the cult maniac

Hannibal Lecturer is a legendary character who was born on the pages of books by Thomas Hariss. The screen versions, in which this bloodthirsty and damn clever maniac later appears, never went unnoticed. The image of Hannibal at the same time frightens off, intrigues and causes a lot of conflicting emotions.

Brief characteristic of the hero

The essence of Hannibal is very versatile. He is a psychiatrist, an intellectual, a serial maniac, and, of course, a devourer of victims. He is like a tightly turned psychopath, and a completely cultured educated person. Brilliant abilities allow him to create terrible things and lead even the most perceptive detectives to the nose. Few can compete with him, let alone send to prison. Hannibal is the embodiment of evil, against which only his kind can play.

Creation, series of books

The "father" of the lecturer is the writer Thomas Harris. It was in his head that the idea was born to create a terribly controversial hero who will both admire the heights of his IQ and make him tremble with horror for his addiction to cannibalism. As a result, Thomas published four novels: "Red Dragon", "Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal", "Hannibal: Rise." Books were a real breakthrough, they immediately rushed to film. Absolutely all actors who played Hannibal Lecter in movies and serials in this role were very believable.

Brian Cox: first on the screen

The first actor who played the role of Hannibal Lector was Brian Cox in 1986. The "Human Hunter" was staged from the book "The Red Dragon" directed by Michael Mann (originally the script was to write David Lynch). The action is twisted on the capture of a sudden murderer (nicknamed "Tooth Fairy"), who keeps the whole city in fear and leaves no evidence. To cope with the impossible task, the FBI agent has to turn for help to the villain from the villains - Hannibal Lecter.

Anthony Hopkins: A lecturer who knows everything

No one is so associated with the image of a bloodthirsty genius, like the cult actor Anthony Hopkins. He played this role in three parts of the saga and was so gorgeous that he became the best Hannibal Lecturer in the history of cinema. The American community began to refer to it as the "movie number one of all times". The sneaking actor's game, the piercing steel look and the absolutely believable fusion with the role helped Hopkins win an Oscar for Best Actor in the movie "The Silence of the Lambs" in 1991 (although he's only been on the staff for more than 15 minutes!).

Gaspar Oulle: A New-Time Lecturer

In 2007, a new film about the grandiose serial killer was released. "Hannibal: Climbing" completely relies on the book of the same name, the fourth in a row. Here, director Peter Webber told the audience the early history of Hannibal, embracing childhood, the emergence of the personality and possible causes of mental abnormalities. Anthony Hopkins could no longer act as a young Hannibal Lecter as an actor, so she got hold of the high-profile French actor Gaspar Houll.

"Hannibal": a multi-series version

The creators of the American series "Hannibal" decided to expand the history of the cult character and tell it as detailed as possible, in several episodes. The author of the project is Brian Fuller. The plot is not far from the book: Agent Graham and Dr. Lector also join forces to catch the maniac "Tooth Fairy". Mads Mikkelsen - took on the difficult role of Hannibal Lecter actor. The series is not for the faint-hearted - it contains frankly bloody scenes. And each episode bears the names of a variety of dishes - a sort of satire that takes into account the taste preferences of the protagonist.
