Club career

The football career of the majority of Soviet players began in various amateur teams of the most supernumerary towns and villages of the country. He began his football career in amateur groups and Pavel Gusev.

Biography of the future owner of the USSR Cup and the captain of the Rostov SKA began in the city of Torez, Donetsk region. Here he played for a local team that took part in regional competitions. Young prospective football player was noticed by the representatives of the club with the revolutionary name "Barricades". It turns out that in the early 70's the so-called Volgograd "Rotor", which at that time was speaking in the second regional league of the USSR championship.

As part of this team, Pavel played four seasons. He held 104 meetings, scored 13 goals. In 1975, seeing no prospects for further growth, he decided to change the situation. At the beginning of the football season Gusev becomes a football player of the Kazan "Rubin". But here he was completely disappointed. After spending half a year in the team's double, Pavel could not get into the main part of the club. In the fall, he comes back.

During this time, the Barricade Club became a "Rotor". The team though changed its name, the club's task remained the same: a stable performance in the zonal championship of the second league without the desire to rise in the class.

Having played a year for the Volgograd club (32 matches, 6 goals), he receives an invitation from the Rostov team SKA. Here, by and large, took place as a football player Pavel Gusev. In this club, he turned into one of the strongest midfielders of the USSR championship.

For long seven years Gusev remained the captain and the best player of the Rostov team. 199 times he went to the football field, protecting the honor of SKA. In these games, he held 31 goals at the gate of rival teams.

The most important football match in his life Paul Gusev played in the spring of 1981. May 9 in Moscow on Victory Day at the Central Lenin Stadium, the final match of the Cup of the country took place, in which the Moscow "Spartak" and the Rostov SKA met.

The irony was that the head coach of the Rostov club was Vladimir Fedotov - the son-in-law of the coach of the capital team Konstantin Beskov. Evil tongues rumored that the meeting would be predictable, relations on the green lawn family, that the Moscow team would not lose such a chance, that in the end the football leadership itself is interested in the victory of Spartak as a stronger representative of the country in future battles. But everything happened in a different scenario.

Naturally, with the rights of a stronger and more technical team Muscovites rushed from the first minutes into the attack, and several times only the skill and reaction of the goalkeeper Rostovites saved the army from the right goal. Apogee of the fight was the appointment of a questionable penalty to the gates of the Rostov club. And it must be such a thing that the best penalty shootout of "Spartacus" Alexander Mirzoyan struck past the goal. A few minutes before the end of regular time, Alexander Zavarov and Sergei Andreev did what stopped the main stadium of the country: the best pass of the first, calculating stroke of the second, and the ball at the gate of Dasayev. Desperate Nava to the Muscovites did not bring success. The referee whistle announced the end of the match.

The captain of the team Pavel Gusev raises the Soviet Union Cup over his head, and the SKA Rostov team wins its first and last significant football trophy in the Soviet and, as it turned out later, post-Soviet period. In 1966 the army team won the silver medals of the USSR championship, but such a grandiose success was not and so far, unfortunately, is not expected in the near future.

In the same championship in 1981 the team performed extremely unsuccessfully and left the big leagues. Gusev played one season with the club in the first league, after which he finished his playing career at the age of 29 years. Proposals came from CSKA Moscow, Dynamo (Moscow), but the player decided to perform active performances in big football. It's sad.

International matches

There were exactly four of them in the career of the football player. They took place within the framework of the Cup Winners' Cup. In the 16th round of the SKA, the Turkish club Ankaragucu won the match. And in 1/8 of the tournament Rostovites were defeated by the West German team "Eintracht".

Coach career

As a coach Gusev worked in the teams: SKA (Rostov), Rotor (Volgograd), Ural (Ekaterinburg), Astrakhan, Dynamo (St. Petersburg). Since 2014 Pavel Gusev - coach of FC "Fakel". In his active work, you can enter the Premier League of Ural (2013), as well as a successful last season with the team "Torch". According to the results of the championship of the "Center" zone, the Voronezh club won a ticket to the NFL league.
