Berdiyev Kurban Bekievich: biography of footballer and coach

Berdyev Kurban Bekievich - a famous Soviet football player, today - a coach. He was famous for having managed to go to the Premier League of Russia in football with Kazan Rubin and then twice to win it. Now Berdiyev Kurban Bekievich trains "Rostov" (football club from Rostov-on-Don), with which last season sensationally won silver medals of the Russian championship. Admirers of the mentor characterize him as a calm, reserved person who is enthusiastically given to work.

Biography

On August 25, 1952, Berdiyev Kurban Bekievich was born. Nationality is Turkmen. Many believe that he is a Tatar, but that's not true. The birthplace was Ashgabat. He always speaks warmly of his homeland, although he has built a football career in another country.

In Ashkhbad Berdyev graduated from the university and began to speak for a little-known team of "Kolkhozchi".

Career football player

In the 80th year Berdiyev Kurban Bekievich was in the football club Rostselmash, where he managed to appear several times on the field. A year later he moved to Kairat from Alma-Ata. The midfielder was waiting for success here. Berdyev together with the team managed to reach the highest division of the USSR. However, he failed to sparkle in the games of the prestigious league of the country. The team coach preferred the 33-year-old player to the younger midfielder. Kurban Bekievich himself was still full of energy and wanted to play, but had to finish his career as a football player.

Trainer

Berdiyev Kurban Bekievich, being a young player, was remembered by mentors and journalists as a very thoughtful and serious person. These qualities predetermined the further career. In Moscow, he enrolled in coaching courses, and then began to train the teams of Kazakhstan. Very soon his successes were noticed by the leadership of the Turkish club "Genclerbirlig". The team was in a difficult situation, was close to flying into the lower division. Several months of work - and the Turkish outsider climbed to the top of the standings. But for a long time to gain a foothold in the coaching staff of Berdyev Kurban Bekievich could not. The reason was the overstated requirements of the leadership.

Then he trained clubs from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, but could not show full skill. Serious success came after moving to Russia. In 2000, he took the "Crystal" from Smolensk, which was the main contender for the departure from the First League, and finished the season in fifth place.

"Ruby"

A year later Berdiyev Kurban Bekievich moved to Kazan, where he headed "Rubin". The club was little known at that time, and the main dream of the fans was to enter the Premier League. Already in 2002, "Ruby" began the season in the camp of debutants of the prestigious division. In 2003, Kazan won bronze medals, which surprised many fans of football.

In place of the mentor Berdyev had a hard time. The football club did not have normal fields, hotels and even training bases. Thanks to the efforts of the mentor, the infrastructure gradually appeared, and Kazan turned into a football city. Berdyev rendered invaluable assistance in the construction of children's academies, in which not only a good game, but also studying for "four" and "five" was required from students.

Discipline became the basis of "Rubin" under Kurban Bekievich. Victories were achieved by team effort, rather than individual skills of individual players. In 2008, Kazan finally won the gold championship of Russia, and a year later, repeated the success. In addition, under his leadership, the club won the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. The games in Eurocups were also distinguished by their bright performances and memorable victories.

In early 2014, the leadership decided to dismiss Berdiyev from the post of mentor.

"Rostov"

The football club was in a desperate situation. It was located on the last line in the table and had zero chances to exit from the relegation zone. The mentor managed to save the club from the slide. The season 2015/16 became the best for "Rostov", which became vice-champion of the country, bypassing many favorites.

At the end of the summer of 2016, information appeared that Berdyev would leave the camp of the team. Many capital clubs, as well as the Russian national team, applied to the specialist. However, he started the season as part of "Rostov", with whom he managed to reach the group stage of the Champions League. Fans hope that Berdiyev will not leave his post and help the team to achieve success in the European arena. The opponents of the club from Rostov got the grants of world football, so the players and the coach will have a hard time.
