Facade profile. Its types and their characteristics

When constructing buildings, their appearance is very important, which depends on the quality and aesthetics of implementation. Also, the outer skin directly affects the warmth and comfort inside the house. For facing the building with materials that require the installation of the frame, use a facade profile.

According to the type of material from which it is made, the following types are distinguished:

  • Metal facade profile, divided into aluminum and steel;
  • Plastic, a large selection is represented by the company "Alta profile";
  • Wood-polymer.

Aluminum

The most popular for today is the aluminum profile, this is due to its advantages, which include:

  • Light weight, which makes it possible to create facades of various shapes, sizes and areas;
  • Durability is several decades, this is due to the fact that aluminum can not be corroded under the influence of atmospheric precipitation;
  • Simplicity of installation;
  • Strength and reliability of this material - a security guarantee of the facade;
  • Aesthetics;
  • Environmental friendliness - aluminum does not emit harmful substances, it does not include heavy metals;
  • Aluminum facade profiles do not require special care;
  • Act as an obstacle to electromagnetic waves, thereby protecting people who are in the house and promote their well-being.

It is for these reasons that the aluminum profile for façade panels is often found in new buildings, as well as sometimes in old houses. In the latter case, the popular reason for installing the profile is the insulation of the walls. This method of insulation allows ventilation between the profile and the heater.

But along with this, the presence of a facade profile made of aluminum imposes some requirements:

  • It is not desirable to combine these profiles with other metals, since aluminum is easily oxidized by some of them;
  • For residential premises it is recommended to use warm profiles, whereas for residential or ventilated areas, conventional ones are recommended. The reason for such requirements is the high thermal conductivity of aluminum.

Plastic profile

Increasingly popular is the plastic profile, which has a wide choice of the company "Alta profile".

Positive characteristics of this type of profile:

  • low price;
  • Long service life;
  • Beautiful appearance;
  • Color diversity;
  • Low risk of injury (compared to aluminum);
  • ease.

When compared with aluminum, the plastic is inferior in strength and fire resistance.

Wood-polymer profile

The wood-polymer profile - most often has the shape of a P-like one. Outwardly very similar to wood, so it is often used as an imitation, as it is resistant to weather and weather phenomena. It looks great this type of profile in combination with fences, gazebos and canopies made of wood.

Steel profile

A special place is occupied by the facade galvanized profile, which is made of thin-walled steel by the cold rolling method with further zinc coating. This metal serves as a protection against corrosion. The profile usually has a length of 2 to 6 meters and a base length of 3 meters.

To produce this type of facade profile, two types of material are used:

  • Corrosion-resistant steel (grade 08H18H10 in accordance with GOST 5582-75);
  • Galvanized steel for the cold profiling process (grade 08 PS according to GOST 14918-80), the powder coating on this kind of profile is applied approximately 60 μm thick.

Compared with an aluminum counterpart, steel has a lower price and durability. But despite this, the price still matters, and this kind of profile is actively used to create façade systems, however, with an additional protective layer.

Classification by form

The shape of the facade profile is divided into:

  • T-like, it is used in systems with a vertical type of attachment. This method of attachment has a number of advantages: economy, ease of installation and low cost.
  • U-shaped, or hat (got this name because of its shape) - the main vertical profile, most often made of aluminum or plastic, stitches the structure vertically, has a standard length of 3 meters.
  • L-shaped - used for fixing a vertical-horizontal type. This profile is fixed horizontally to the bracket.

In addition to these common types of profiles, there are also C-like, Z-shaped, angular variants.

Classification by manufacturing features

The reinforced view of the facade profile is an option that has an increased thickness of the metal and is used for fixing to metal elements or concrete floors. The price of such structures is higher than that of other types of facade profiles.

The special facade profile basically plays the role of decorating the vertical, horizontal and angular seam between the facing slabs of the facade system. The thickness of this profile is from 0.55 to 0.7 mm. Color powder coating can be a variety of shades of a thickness of about 45 microns.

Each profile for facade panels has its own features and advantages. In order not to be mistaken with the correctness of choosing a particular type of facade profiles, first of all you need to build on the purpose of the building and its location. A wide range of profiles to date allows you to satisfy the highest and most demanding desires. But the main task in choosing a facade profile is to provide internal comfort and exterior aesthetics of the structure.
