Facade system. Suspended facade systems

To date, at the disposal of architects and designers a lot of building materials and techniques, through which the expressiveness and uniqueness of modern buildings is achieved. One of the most accessible and easy to install is the façade system, which is presented on the market with a huge number of color and textural solutions that allow to fully reveal the architect's design.

Roofing and facade systems

Roofing is one of the most important parts of the building, as it is most directly exposed to aggressive loads of the environment. Requirements for the roof, perhaps the most stringent. It must have absolute waterproofness, sound and heat insulating properties, resistance to temperature and humidity changes, and also unpretentiousness in maintenance.

All these requirements are met by modern roofing systems, which are not only roofing materials made of galvanized sheet with a polymer coating, but also all the components of mounting fasteners and tools, such as vapor barrier membranes, roofing materials, drainage systems, dormers and so on.

Recently, a new development of specialists has appeared at the disposal of architects - a façade system that allows solving even the most courageous architectural plans in the shortest time and with minimal expenses. Cladding products are represented by a wide choice and can be made of various materials: porcelain tiles, metal facade cassettes, aluminum composite panels, fiber cement slabs and the like.

The breadth of application of this type of facade cladding allows us to talk about its universality, since the application is possible, both in residential, public and office buildings, and in industrial construction.

Feature of hinged facade systems

Suspended facade systems are an opportunity to abandon the original exterior decoration of the building, which significantly saves capital investment. The erection of this facade is made on a special frame made of aluminum, which gives an optimal ratio of weight and strength. Also aluminum is not subject to corrosion, which allows not to carry out current repair of structures for many years.

This facade system is installed at any time of the year without loss of quality, and ease of operation provides another important plus. Since the installation is not done directly on the wall of the building, but is fixed only in the support points, this makes it possible to hide the shortcomings of the bearing walls, and also makes it possible to decorate the facade of not only the building under construction, but also the erected building.

Ventilated facade systems

Ventilated facade systems are panels that are mounted on a special frame with the gap between the wall and the panel. The choice of insulation for filling this gap allows you to achieve the optimum option to maintain a comfortable temperature in the building. The main material for thermal protection, used in facade systems, are mineral wools with a layering on the outer surface of fiberglass.

The ventilation duct allows you to get rid of fungi and mold, as well as the accumulation of moisture on the bearing walls of the building. Provision of sound insulation and vapor barrier is possible to install additional layers of protection between the panel and the wall.

Installation process

Installation of facade systems takes place in several stages and can be carried out by both specialized companies and non-professionals. At the first stage, a grid of marking is applied to the wall of the building, along which the mounting subsystem is subsequently installed.

Further, the insulation layer and the waterproofing membrane are fixed. At this stage, there is a gap between the heater and the cladding plates, which further provides a pocket for condensation of moisture, which should not reach the load-bearing wall of the building. Then, the cladding material is fastened, and all panels are precisely adjusted to meet fire safety requirements.

Hinged facades from porcelain tiles

Special operational and physical and technical parameters of ceramic granite allow to attribute it to universal materials that can maintain their aesthetic and physical qualities for many years. This facade system is used mainly in administrative, commercial and office buildings, where unpretentiousness in service and durability play not the least role.

Ceramic granite is an artificial material with a high resistance to temperature changes and a low level of moisture absorption. A low level of abrasion and strength make it the best material for facing facades.

A huge selection of colors and textures allows imitating almost any material, whether it is wood or any of the stone materials of natural origin, which gives a great field for creativity to designers.

Since the appearance of ceramic granite (in the 1970s), its properties have improved, and today they almost do not differ from the properties of natural granite, but at the same time porcelain is several times cheaper, and therefore more affordable.

Provision of fire safety

Despite all the obvious pluses, the ventilated facade system has recently received great resonance in the construction community: reports of several fires that caused great damage due to the rapid spread of fire through the ventilation pockets of the facades. Among a large number of different brands and models of products there are those that use combustible materials. They, when burning, release highly toxic compounds that are dangerous to humans.

The fire safety standards imposed on facades with a height of more than two floors contain stringent requirements for thermal and vapor barrier materials, but, as practice shows, fire can also spread over the external facade. The novelty and lack of testing of the material on the Russian market leads to the fact that at the moment there are no methods for determining fire safety, which would be applicable to hinged facades.
