Engines VAZ-2130: characteristics, features

Many car enthusiasts love to buy domestic cars. One of the popular series of VAZ is the "Niva". It's about a specific model that received the index of 2130. The most interesting in this machine is the engine. It is of a "classical" type with typical problems for such aggregates. Engine Features

Many models of "Niva" are equipped with a factory engine, which was installed on VAZ cars with index 2130. The power unit is based on the VAZ-21213 car. Several times it was subjected to modifications, as a result of which the engine received an increased volume level and slightly changed dynamic characteristics. Thanks to these innovations, its power has increased.

How was the volume increased? This was due to the combustion chamber and a slightly modified piston performance.

The VAZ-2130 engine was produced in two versions:

  • Injection - at 84 horsepower;
  • Carburetor - 82 liters. from.

For more stable operation of the power unit, a crankshaft appeared , the functionality of which was very different from the old model. A steel variant was used. Most of the technical characteristics of the engine was borrowed from other cars of the same plant.

Malfunctions and repair of the engine VAZ-2130

Both car engines - both carburetor and injector for 4 cylinders - had a shaft that was located on top. They are also the owners of the chain drive. As a result, the engine volume reached 1.8 liters.

Speaking about the disadvantages of these units, it is necessary to note the standard problems - warming, knocking, shredding. Like all the "classic" options, there is a chronic problem with the valves, which is indicated by a sufficiently loud engine noise when idling. I can hear it through the closed hood directly to the driver.

Turbo

It is necessary to take a turbo-kit, the pressure of which is not more than 0.6 bar, in order to increase the speed. It is allowed to use the option from 0.5 bar.

Many drivers are interested in the advantages that appear when using a turbine on the VAZ-2130. This element allows you to get the effect of riding an SUV by increasing the torque. The negative side of the project is limited by the cost of its implementation.

When installing the turbine on a standard engine ("classic"), in order to increase the speed, you should purchase a high-pressure element. After installing it, you will have to spend a sufficient amount of money, which, as a rule, exceeds the cost of the machine itself, to fully refine what has been started. Many motorists advise making a car swap.

Compressor

In order to install the compressor on the VAZ-2130, it is necessary to take a whale, whose pressure is 0.5 bar. You can also do it yourself. Install this element on a standard motor. The positive and negative moments of compressor mounting correspond to those that the turbine has. However, it should be noted that this part takes for its work additional power. And this, as a result, reduces the performance of the required functions.

The most popular compressors are models of Eaton. They are used in the motor of "Mercedes" cars.

In order to achieve the maximum effect from the use of the compressor and turbine, you should purchase and then install light valves. Also does not put to waste channels of cylinder head. It would be enough. As a rule, other manipulations are much more expensive, although there is little use from them.
