Krapivin Vladislav was born in 1938, October 14, in the family of teachers Olga Petrovna and Peter Fedorovich Krapivins in the city of Tyumen. He was the third child of his parents. His father for a long time served as a priest in the Orthodox Church and moved to Siberia from Kirov (Vyatka), fleeing from imminent repression. Pedagogical concept

Krapivin Vladislav devoted a lot of time to teaching. The peculiarity of his literary works can not be understood without studying this aspect of his life. So, in 1961 the famous writer created in Sverdlovsk an uneven age group "Caravel", which in 1965 received the status of a separate (almost independent!) Pioneer squad. The "Caravelle" had its own oath-slogan, which fully indicated the pedagogical orientation of this association: "I will enter into battle with any injustice, meanness and cruelty, wherever they meet. I will not wait for someone to defend myself before me. " In this detachment Vladislav Krapivin brought up new romantic heroes - courageous, disinterested, with a sharp sense of justice. These were the fearless heroes of the author's works.

In addition, Vladislav Petrovich considers childhood a special period in the life of each person, equal in rights with maturity, youth and old age, defends the principle of cooperation of generations and speaks about the necessity of presence in the inner world of each child of some high idea. All these postulates are reflected in the writer's work.

Basic works

Vladislav Krapivin, whose bibliography is very extensive, has been engaged in creative activity for fifty years. In the years 1998-2000. Publishing house "Tsentrpoligraf" published a twenty-nine-volume collection of the author's works. According to the literary critic S. B. Borisov, among all the books created by the writer, one can single out the layer of his works written between 1965 and 1982. It was in him that the image-concept of "Krapivin boys" was born. Among the most outstanding works of the author are:

  • "Valkin friends and sails."
  • "Squire Kashka."
  • The Shadow of Caravelle.
  • "Zhuravlyonok and lightning."
  • "The flight of horned Vikings."
  • "The Boy with the Sword".
  • "Scarlet Feathers of Arrows".
  • "Carpet plane".
  • "Fairy tales of Sevka Glushchenko".
  • "The musketeer and the fairy."

In addition, in the 1980s, Vladislav Petrovich began to write books of a fantastic and fantastic direction. It was in this vein that he created a series of works under the general title "In the Depth of the Great Crystal."

The realistic line

The works of Vladislav Krapivin were realistic until the end of the 1970s. At that time, he was an adherent of the romantic approach to the narrative. Swords, sails, drums are invariable attributes of the author's works. Romance is bubbling in the blood of "Krapivin boys" who can dream and feel the call for adventure. In his books, the writer created an easily recognizable and original image of a teenager - a rebel, a rebel, a defender, a warrior and a romantic. He is distinguished by moral purity, a sense of dignity and justice. It is also important that he has an active life position and is capable of a heroic deed. That is why the heroes of Krapivin often fall into unpleasant stories to save someone or defend their own honor.

The cruel truth

In his works Krapivin Vladislav does not hide from readers the cruel truth of life. His boys often come into conflict with others, sometimes they have skirmishes with hooligans or dangerous bandits. It happens that the heroes of the author even die: the third class student Vorobyev in the story "The side where the wind" saves the kids at the cost of their lives; Ruthless beating Vekshina Cyril concludes "Lullaby for a brother." In this case, the heroes rarely receive public recognition - Seryozha Kakhovsky, who joined the fight against the gangster group and defended the kids, gets reprimanded at the council of the pioneer detachment. Such an outcome in the works of Krapivin is natural. His characters often become troublemakers, they are uncomfortable for the surrounding world with their civic activity.

A world without adults

Krapivin Vladislav Petrovich - an adherent of the theory of cooperation of different generations. Heroes of the author are guys of different ages, but they share similar views on life. Almost all the books of the writer senior care for the younger ("Valkin friends and sails," "The side where the wind", "Lullaby for a brother," "Squire Kashka"). A teenager, as a rule, helps his little friend to overcome the difficulty and morbidity of growing up. In fact, there are no adults in the world of the Krapivin heroes: their participation in the action is as limited as possible and often has a negative character. Adolescents, on the other hand, are wise friends and mentors who still remember their own helplessness before evil and injustice and are invariably ready to help the weaker comrade.

"The Boy with the Sword"

In the trilogy entitled "The Boy with the Sword", the author's concept was most fully embodied. This is one of his most famous non-fantastic works. The story with the same name was published in 1974 in the journal Pioneer. Later, the writer Vladislav Krapivin created a trilogy, which included "Flag Captains" and "Riders from the station Rosa." The central part in it was the novel "The Starry Hour of Sergei Kakhovsky." In 1981, the "Boy with the Sword", beloved by everyone, was published as a separate book in the collection "The Golden Library. Selected works for children and young people ".

The leading hero of the trilogy - Kakhovsky Seryozha - is one of those dreamers and eccentrics who will not stop at nothing in the struggle for justice. For her sake, he is ready to overcome any difficulties, and therefore his clashes with himself and the world around him are not childishly dramatic.

World of the Great Crystal

As mentioned above, in the 1980s, author of works of a fantastic direction, Vladislav Krapivin, began to write. In this respect, the cycle of works entitled "In the depths of the Great Crystal" is indicative. In it, the writer created an entire cosmogonic world, with its own history, religion, geography, metaphysics and physics. Vladislav Petrovich even tries to make a map of this fantastic place. The world of the Great Crystal, according to the author's version, is a set of living worlds that touch or pass into each other, existing in one "vertical time". It is populated mainly by children. Adults in it a little, they rarely play a decisive role in the development of events.

Favorite heroes in the works of Krapivin are "koivo" children (the author's definition). These are border boys, endowed with the ability to penetrate other worlds. The plot of each of the stories of the cycle is based on the fate of one or several such heroes.

Nowadays

Nowadays the picture of the world in the work of Krapivin has become much more complicated. The writer remained faithful to the principles of good and justice, but he realized the full force and viability of evil. Now in his books there is disappointment, pain and death. Heroes Vladislav Petrovich sometimes accused of lack of mercy, forgetting that the author forces them to fight a real evil, in the fight against which there can be no compromise.

Absolutely unique in contemporary Russian literature is the world of the Great Crystal, created by Vladislav Krapivin. The best books in this series are still re-read not only by children, but also by adults. A peculiar continuation of this cycle were the works written by him in recent years - "Boats", "The Broken Moon", "The Airplane by the Name of Sergei", "The Orange Portrait with Spots."
