Trimming is ... Trimming of the Risenschnauzer. Trimming the Fox Terrier

Dogs of some breeds need special care for their hair. Trimming is a plucking by hand or with the help of special tools of old hairs from the animal's wool, which are easily detached from his skin.

What is Trimming for?

Many dogs with hard hair in the process of evolution have stopped molting. This is primarily a risen schnauzer, a zwergschnauzer. In addition, it is almost all kinds of terriers - west, fox, core, selichem, scotch tape and others. However, with them, with time, the old coat becomes thinner and dies. In this case, the haircut is unlikely to help your pet - after it the hair gradually thinens, becomes softer, can change color. Therefore, it is much more effective to use trimming, that is, to remove old hair with a special tool.

When to Trimmer

Growing up, the hairwool hair gradually thinens. As a rule, it occurs approximately in 3-5 months from the moment of the previous procedure. A good, healthy hair is different from the old one in the first place, a clearly visible elastic thick part. An animal covered with such hair looks well-groomed. It lies in a dense layer, does not fall apart on strands, it does not crumple with tufts.

When the hair grows old, your pet begins to look sloppy. Therefore, at this time, trimming is a necessary procedure. Just want to warn the owners of dogs that it is quite long and difficult to do it on their own. Therefore, it is better to entrust this procedure to a specialist, especially if you are preparing for an exhibition.

Trimming dogs is a procedure that experts recommend in autumn or spring, that is, at a time when natural moulting of animals occurs.

Schnauzers need trimming

Usually this breed of dog wool ripens in about six months. This period is individual for each individual. If you need to prepare an animal for the exhibition, then the schnauzer trimming should be done 6 to 8 weeks before the planned event. The first time this process your puppy is unlikely to like, so the very first procedure is done in several stages, when the puppy reaches 6 - 7 months old. If this age is not in the autumn or winter, then it's better to wait for the right season.

Two weeks before the exhibition, the schnauzer is given a cosmetic haircut. Remember, this is a very important moment, and the master has no right to make a mistake. But do not think that trimming is less responsible. If it is executed correctly, then, most likely, the expert will indulgently look at the shortcomings of cosmetic haircuts.

Care for the fox terrier

One of the first coarse-wooled hunting dogs brought into our country, became fox terriers. If you want your pet to always look well-groomed and beautiful, you should work a little. To begin with, you need to learn how to care for your pet's tough hair.

If you do not want to attend a special hairdresser, then for a year of practice you will master this skill. First, wash the dog with a special shampoo. Allow the wool to dry. You will need scissors with sharp and blunt ends. The machine for a hairstyle should not be used.

Put the dog higher and start trimming the fox terrier. If the animal is started, its processing has not been carried out since birth, then your task is much simpler - on the sides and back, the wool is plucked completely painlessly, and in these areas there are sprouts of new wool.

Trimming technique

This procedure is carried out by a special comb. The adult animal will need two kinds of tools - for the middle trimming (intended for the sides, back of the neck, neck and hind legs of the dog), as well as for a small trimming that is done on the chest, ears, cheeks. All owners of dogs of this breed should know that the trimming of the fox terrier really needs to be done regularly, as the old wool of these dogs does not drop out and prevents the growth of a new undercoat.

Trimming of the Miniature Schnauzer

Well comb the dog, comb its hair with stripping. Then you should carefully comb out the undercoat with the help of a gun or a special trimming knife. Then pull out a little.

Then put the dog on the table on its side and start trimming from the bottom, holding the skin of the animal above the treated area. Movements should be pulling, not pulling. Trimmings in the direction of hair growth. Process the whole body, except for the lower part of the chest. For zwergschnauzer, a great disadvantage is the similarity with the terrier. Therefore, you should carefully pinch the shoulders and the back of the thighs. Then in the future it will be possible to create the necessary silhouette of the dog with a cosmetic haircut.

The neck is treated completely, except the throat and anterior part. Be sure to trim your forehead, it is advisable to treat the tail, otherwise it will not fit well with the appearance of the dog.

Trimming of the Risenschnauzer

This is another representative of the rough-haired breeds of dogs, to whom trimming is vital. Inability, and sometimes ignorance of how to properly care for the hair of a Risenschnauzer, leads to the fact that the animal externally changes completely. The dog looks like a mongrel.

In recent years, the timing of the preparation of these dogs for exhibitions has changed. Now they are held at the beginning of the year, and not in autumn or spring, as it was before. Trimming of dogs of this breed is done at any time of the year, which greatly facilitates the work of masters. Usually, the wool of a Risenschnauzer is processed not more than four times a year, one and a half to two months before the exhibition. Trimming is a procedure that can be preventative. In this case, its main goal is a complete renewal of the wool. Can be performed simultaneously with the haircut, but the latter should by no means replace the trimming.

Riesenschnauzer wool is very tough. It needs constant combing, otherwise it quickly slips. The trimming is done manually, a knife is used for stripping. This will keep the wool wire-like and stiff (the machine haircut makes the hair soft, its structure changes, and sometimes its color). Trimming is carried from the back of the neck to the tail. The neck is plucked from above and along the sides, the sides to the bottom of the chest, we work the back well, the hips to the hocks. It is advisable to treat the tail from above.

Today, many breeders prefer to call the master to shear and trimming dogs at home. And this decision is fully justified. Your pet will not have to get used to unfamiliar surroundings, and consequently, he will not be emotionally tense before not the most pleasant procedure for him. In addition, the master can come to you at any time convenient for you - do not forget that the procedure can last several hours. A professional will quickly tame your pet, it can properly trim and cut to emphasize all the dignity of the animal.
