Ekaterininsky Park is a historical resting place

History

Until the fifteenth century, the territory of this green zone was not built up. Her significant part was occupied by meadows, groves and pastures. Beginning in the 16th century, the territory along the riverbed of the Samoteka flowing here began to be actively built up. Thus, there appeared the Krestovozdvizhensky monastery, the royal village, and later the Trifon church. In the eighteenth century, the suburban estate of Count V. Saltykov began to be erected in this district, next to which a small park with a pond was later broken. In 1807, the estate was rebuilt, from that time it houses the Catherine's Women's Institute.

Gradually, the northern parts of the park are being ennobled, two large streets appear. In 1888 Alexander Immer - commerce adviser and honorary citizen - leases a small part of the territory, where he creates a vegetable nursery, an experimental station, as well as numerous greenhouses and greenhouses. In the twentieth century, the Catherine's Park is visibly changing. Instead of the Trifon Church, the hotel building of the Central House of Culture is under construction, the Samotechka River was enclosed in an underground pipe, and the Olympic Avenue was laid through the green zone. In 1999, on the initiative of the mayor, a decision was made to create a complex on the territory of the green zone for social and domestic services and cultural rest for veterans. Here photographers and artists find a place for creativity. Catherine's Park is a great place for family holidays. There are playgrounds, resting places for the elderly. On the territory of the recreation area there is also a small chapel open for parishioners almost around the clock.

Visiting Pushkino, Catherine Park and numerous architectural structures of this place, you can see the features of different styles and eras. The oldest part of the green zone is called "Old Garden". Here, on the initiative of Catherine II in the 18th century, there appeared gazebos, covered alleys and ponds. It is filled with architectural structures, reminiscent of the forms of ancient Roman monuments, and structures that imitate Chinese motifs.
