Ehud Barak: biography and photos

Ehud Barak is an Israeli military and political figure who was born in Palestine. At the moment he is the leader of the very successful Liberal Party "Atzmaut".

Unfortunately, the career of Ehud does not allow to completely declassify the biography of this person, therefore in open sources there is little information about him.

Family and youth

So, the future military man was born in Palestine on February 12, 1942. Together with his parents - repatriates from Lithuania and Poland - Esther and Israel Brogh, he resided in the kibbutz Mishmar ha-Sharon (Sharon's guard).

Even then, the boy had a peculiar sense of humor. The most vivid memory is connected with this moment, which Ehud Barak himself told about in an interview. Then the British were scampering to their homes in search of clandestine arms depots, including explosives. During the search, the boy led the soldiers to a pomegranate tree. Apparently, his joke was taken for childish spontaneity, so they let him go unscathed.

But even further, Ehud continued to bring problems to his parents. Brog (real name) was a stubborn and stubborn child. The knowledge that offered the school, he was uninteresting, so the boy was constantly accused of laziness and untidiness. This led to the fact that by the end of grade 11, teachers literally did not want to see him, although they did not turn out or leave for the second year. He was just banned from going to school.

As a result, Ehud Barak, whose biography is considered in this article, passed the exams externally and much later than the others. However, the accusations of teachers were groundless - much later, already being an officer, the young man brilliantly graduated two faculty in the universities of Jerusalem and the United States.

Anti-terrorist unit

In 1961, the young man joined the IDF. There, Brog's stubbornness played a decisive role: at the cost of enormous efforts, the young man managed to make his way into the anti-terrorist unit "Syeret Matkal". The men of this group risked their lives daily, but that's what attracted the future general.

Ehud Barak quickly became a pet commander of the unit. It came to the point that all planned operations were thought out taking into account the personal characteristics of the young man. A great joy to Ehud was the realization that his efforts were not wasted. Each weary training, constant exercises, successfully executed tactical tasks brought him closer to the level of experienced comrades, because initially he was just a "green" youth.

The basic skills were trained in the Arab villages. Night raids on such a dangerous territory, where any slightly different person aroused suspicion, helped the special forces to improve their camouflage skills.

Further career

At the moment, Ehud Barak is the only soldier who passed simultaneously a school of scouts and infantrymen's courses. The young man did not plan to leave the special forces, and after the main term he signed a new contract. He no longer imagined his life without military affairs, especially since now he headed the post of deputy commander of the unit for special operations. It was in this position that the young man showed himself "in all its glory."

Even during the "six-day war" Barak's group managed to prove itself and capture the enemy's base, despite the fact that they were everywhere ahead of the Air Force and tank detachments. Ehud Barak rushed to every hot spot in Israel, as a result, earned a considerable increase: at 37 years old, the man became the youngest IDF general.

Further, Barak's career developed rapidly: in 1982, Ehud headed "AMAN", and in 1991 he already took the post of chief of the General Staff of the IDF. In this position, Barak stayed until the year 95.

Policy

After the resignation, the man went into politics, especially since he was a welcome trophy in many Israeli parties. During the year, Ehud rose from the post of Minister of Internal Affairs to the leader of the organization "Labor". In the elections of the year 99, he defeated the former prime minister of the country and took his place. Barak did much for Israel, including trying to settle the Middle East conflict, but failed. He also lost his post after losing to Ariel Sharon.

For six years, the man resigned, abandoning political and military activities. But on June 12, 2007, he again took the position of leader of "Labor", but because of the decreasing number of mandates issued by the Knesset, he soon left the organization. At the moment, Ehud Barak, photo of which is presented above, is the leader of the party "Atzmaut".

Personal life

Ehud is married twice. With the first wife he met in 1968 and lived with her for 34 years. From this marriage, the man has three daughters: Michael, Yael, Anat. In 2003, the couple could not stand the increasing heat in the relationship and divorced, although Naava sacrificed much for her husband.

In 2007, Ehud again got married. This time his wife was Nili Priel. Their marriage is still quite strong, and the ex-general himself claims that he was in love with a woman in his youth.
