Ecologically clean cities in Russia according to different research versions

Ecologically clean cities in Russia - what are they? Who is doing the rating, what criteria are taken into account? To answer these questions, it will be necessary to consider several lists compiled by some organizations in different years.

"Urbanika" and the Union of Architects: "We know the ecologically clean cities of Russia "

What did these two organizations do? In 2011, they determined the most environmentally friendly cities in Russia. Considered only large settlements, those with at least 170.5 thousand people. What did you take into account when ranking?

  1. The quality of the urban environment. This includes such indicators as the availability of housing, the state of roads, illumination of sleeping areas and industrial zones, transport accessibility, the level of crime. Do these indicators refer to the concept of "ecology"? Representatives of these institutions are sure that they are.
  2. How much the natural conditions are favorable for living.
  3. Level and amount of contaminants.
  4. Level of expenses for housing and communal services.

Not to mention the fact that not all indicators are relevant to the environment, methods of collecting information were also questionable. It was provided by realtors, climate research institutes, consulting companies. According to the results of the study, the cleanest city for 2011 was named. It turned out to be ... Surgut. The second place in the list is Tyumen. Surprisingly, according to Urbaniki, ecologically clean cities of Russia are Cherepovets, Nizhnevartovsk, and Chelyabinsk. All of them occupy different positions in the rating, but fall into the first hundred of a dubious list, which lists the ecological clean cities of Russia according to the Union of Architects and Urbaniki. In subsequent years, the institute continued to make ratings, but they are based on other indicators.

Studies of urban ecology are also the Ministry of Nature. At the heart of their ratings are completely different indicators. Here take into account:

  • Air quality;
  • Water quality;
  • Waste disposal;
  • Management of environmental impacts.

According to the Ministry, in 2011 absolutely different cities were named. The first, most worthy, place was proudly taken by Volgograd, followed by St. Petersburg, Saransk, Vologda ... In 2012, Kursk was named as the most environmentally friendly city in Russia. The last places among 70 cities were shared by Krasnodar and Irkutsk. In 2013, the picture has changed markedly. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources said that Kursk takes the same position. Other ecologically clean cities in Russia in 2013: Moscow, Kaluga, Saransk, Izhevsk. In addition to summing up the overall results, winners of individual nominations were also announced. The cleanest water, the Ministry of Natural Resources assures, is in Anadyr. It is best to utilize waste in Yaroslavl. Correspondingly, Saransk interacts with the environment. The cleanest, clearest air today in Makhachkala, Volgograd and Petersburg. Krasnodar and Irkutsk were at the last places in all ratings, but not because of bad ecology, but because officials did not submit the necessary information to the Ministry on time. Granted with great delay, they clearly demonstrated that Krasnodar could easily get into the top five cities in which it is pleasant to live.
