Duchess Alba - the most titled woman in the world

The richest and most amazing woman in Spain, known as the 18th Duchess of Alba, is a representative of an ancient family that already has a history of 584 years. The head of the genus Alba has the largest number of titles in the world. They have over 40 officially recognized by the government. This was the reason why Caetana was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most titled person in the world.

The Spanish Duchess of Alba belongs to a genus originating from the famous aristocrats and grandees of Spain, who owned the same city, spread out on the river Tormes. Their title was established in 1429 by Juan II of Castile, and the first owner was Archbishop Alvarez de Toledo. After his death on account of celibacy, the title of count was inherited by the nephew of the priest Marquis of Coria. In 1472 the title of the house of Alba was raised to the ducal.

Duchess of Alba Was born in 1926 in Madrid. The girl's godparents became the reigning princes Victoria Eugenia and Alfonso XIII. Cayetana, being a widow, entered into a second marriage with Jesús Aguirre, who headed the music department of the Spanish Ministry of Culture. The reaction to her marriage in the light was ambiguous. Cayetan was accused of swagger, and her husband, who was 8 years younger than his wife, in selfish motives. Despite a hail of criticism, this marriage was happy, but interrupted by the death of Jesús in 2001, which was a serious blow to the duchess.

The third marriage of a titled person in 2008 with an antiques dealer Alfonso Diaz, who was 24 years younger, was the subject of numerous ridicule and the cause of a split inside the house of Alba. The eldest son lost his right to inheritance and ceased contact with his mother as a sign of protest.

Nevertheless, the Duchess of Alba went to the conflict with her family and wrote to them most of her numerous palaces, mansions and a significant part of the picture gallery consisting of paintings by Rembrandt, Goya, Rubens, Murillo, Velasquez. Alfonso, trying to prove that not the state of Caetana was the cause of marriage, wrote a refusal in writing from any claims to her money.

Marriage with Alfonso, numerous unsuccessful plastic surgery made the duchess the heroine of the yellow press. According to the extraordinary noble person, all this does not prevent her from enjoying her old age. It is rumored that the richest aristocrat of Spain can travel the whole country from north to south, without leaving the limits of their own possessions.

The Duchess of Alba, despite various gossip, is revered in Spain. About her life was filmed the film La Duquesa by the television company Telecinco, the main role in which was played by Adriana Osořes. In Puerto Banos (Marbella), in honor of the duchess, a personal star is laid, a monument is erected on Paseo de Cristina Cayetana, while in Sevilla one of the squares is named after her.
