The child brings joy to the house. But at the same time there are many questions that parents have to solve. For example, is it worth to give the child to the DOW (the abbreviation will be explained below)? What do children do in such institutions? We will try to highlight these issues.

So, what exactly is a Dow? The decoding of this abbreviation sounds like this: preschool educational institution. From this it follows that general education programs with different orientations are being implemented here. Well, of course, visit such organizations (which also can be seen from the transcript) preschool children, i.e. children under the age of 7 years. As for when the kids come to this institution, here it can be about one and a half years, and about three. It depends on the type of the DOW and the wishes of the parents (someone does not consider it acceptable to give a one-year-old baby to a kindergarten, and some simply do not have a choice, since one has to go to work).

There is no such person who would not have heard of the DOW. Deciphering it is rarely used, mostly we call such institutions kindergartens. However, not everyone knows that these institutions are divided into 5 types. Accordingly, in each specific case, the activities of the DOW will also vary slightly.

General Kindergarten

These are traditional preschools, to which we are all accustomed. Usually such an institution is in every district of the city, and not one. One or several areas of development of children can be chosen as a priority in the preschool institution of this type: intellectual, physical, artistic and aesthetic, etc. When compiling educational and educational programs, teachers are necessarily guided by state standards. If the institution has such an opportunity, additional classes can be organized, for example, music, choreography, foreign languages, etc.

Groups in the DOW are formed according to the age criterion:

• Children 1,5-2 years old visit the nursery group;
• 2-3-year-old children - the first younger;
• Children 3-4 years old - the second younger;
• From 4 to 5 years the child goes to the middle group;
• From 5 to 6 - in the senior;
• Children 6 years (sometimes 7) are engaged in the preparatory group.

Of course, children can not just learn anything all the time. The duration of the educational process varies depending on the age of the pupils. Also in kindergartens are provided games, reading books, physical education, drawing, modeling and much more.

Kindergarten compensating type

In such pre-service facilities, there is mainly qualified assistance to children with various physical and mental disabilities. Educational programs and methods of treatment, correction and upbringing are created on the basis of information about what deviations there are in pupils. Such institutions can be attended by blind children, hearing impaired and visually impaired, children with severe speech disorders, etc. Admission can be made only with the consent of the parents, as well as after the conclusion of special commissions: medical pedagogical and psycho-pedagogical.

The activities of such institutions are quite specific, imposes certain requirements on their equipment. So, preschools of this kind are usually equipped with speech therapy and massage rooms, swimming pools, special adaptations in groups, etc.

Kindergarten for health and supervision

Such preschools, as a rule, take babies who are not yet three years old. Here we organize health and educational events. Great attention is paid to the prevention of various diseases in children and sanitation.

Combined kindergarten

The essence of the activity of this institution is clear from the title. These DOW can combine groups of different types (health, compensatory and general education).

Development Center

Priority for such DOW is an individual approach to each pupil. Great attention is paid to the development of intellectual and artistic-aesthetic abilities of children. To organize the entire process of education and upbringing at the proper level, computer classes, swimming pools, playgrounds and sports halls are equipped here. It is also possible to organize various groups, sections, children's theaters and art studios.

So, now we know what the Dow. The interpretation of this abbreviation is widely perceived by many as a synonym for the concept of "kindergarten", and in the usual sense for the average Russian. However, as we see, there are several types of such institutions. Well, parents of kids have something to think about.
