Dough for pie with cabbage

Pies are a wonderful way to feed your family a hearty and delicious dinner. This dish is loved by both children and adults, a huge number of types of fillings make it possible to cook pastries for almost any taste. Pies can be fried in a pan without oil, and bake in the oven.

However, the classic yeast dough for pie with cabbage is not prepared too quickly, since even a safe method of making a dough takes you at least forty minutes. What should I do if the pie really wanted, but there are no yeast bought in the house, and there's no time to mess around? In this case, we suggest you cook a pie from a batterless test.

In order to make a yeastless dough for a pie with cabbage, you will need:

  • 250 grams of kefir; Half a kilogram of wheat flour, one egg, 2 tablespoons of sugar and vegetable oil, a teaspoon of soda, a pinch of salt.

Immediately it can be noted that yogurt is easily replaced and other sour-milk non-fat product, which is in the house, except sour cream. Wonderful fit yogurt, the dough on it will turn out lush and gentle, even serum will do. Flour is better prepared with a margin, so that you can sprinkle the table when rolling pies.

We rub the egg well with sugar and salt. This recipe indicates sugar to make a dough for a pie with cabbage, if you want to make pies with a sweet filling, then the amount of sugar should be doubled. Then pour in the vegetable oil and mix mass until smooth consistency. In sour milk or kefir, add soda, previously quenched with vinegar, and mix well.

In case if you do not want to use vinegar to quench soda, you can use citric acid or lemon juice. Soda should be mixed with citric acid in equal proportions and watered.

To the first mixture we add kefir and carefully mix everything. As soon as the contents of the bowl get a uniform consistency, add the sifted flour in small portions. The dough is well stirred, so that no lumps are formed! The dough should not be too steep, gentle in consistency, elastic and not stick to your hands.

Cover the finished dough with an inverted bowl and let it stand a little.

Such a dough for a pie with cabbage is good because any filling is suitable here. Finely chopped apples, cheese, sausages, thick jam, rice - almost everything will do. However, the filling from cabbage to this test is just perfect.

Of course, with cabbage you can cook not only pies. Very tasty, for example, vareniki with cabbage.

To make dough for vareniki with cabbage, you will need:

  • 0.5 teaspoons of sugar, 150 g of water, 2 cups of flour, egg, salt.

For stuffing:

  • A small head of cabbage, a spoonful of sugar, 2 onions, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, pepper, 100 g of vegetable oil, 2 carrots, salt, bay leaf.

For the test, it is necessary to put the egg in the sifted flour, pour in cold water, in which sugar and salt are dissolved. Knead a fairly steep dough and set it aside for half an hour for swelling.

At the time when the dough swells, you can cook minced meat. Cabbage finely chopped and put on a heated frying pan. Add a little water and put it out until softness under the lid. Cut the onions into small cubes, grate the carrots. Put carrots and onions to cabbage, add salt to taste, and simmer for 15 minutes. Before pouring the extinguishing process add pepper, salt, bay leaves and sugar.

The dough should be thinly rolled, cut into mugs. In the middle of each mug lay out the stuffing, varenik folded in half and tie the edges. Give it a crescent shape.

However, this is not the only recipe for dough suitable for dumplings. We suggest you cook dough for vareniki on kefir.

This recipe is also great for fruit fillings, and for potato or curd fillings.

You will need:

  • Half a liter of kefir, one egg, a half-wrays of baking powder, a teaspoon of salt, 700 g of flour.

In a bowl you should pour kefir, put soda and let stand for several minutes. Then put all the other ingredients and knead the dough. This dough turns out to be very gentle and easy to handle.
