Do I need to wear a bandage during pregnancy?

Until now, experts can not come to a consensus on whether to wear a bandage during pregnancy. Some doctors recommend to resort to the help of the bandage already in the second trimester, as it significantly reduces the burden on the spine and greatly facilitates the life of the future mother. Others, on the contrary, are categorically opposed to additional help in the process of bearing a child. Their conviction is based on the fact that nature has created a woman and her body, able to endure such a burden as pregnancy and childbirth, which means that the bandage only hinders and because of it the muscles of the stomach weaken. But the majority of both theorists and practitioners welcome the use of the bandage.

The modern market of specialized products offers a wide range of bandages of various types. It is best to use it on the advice of a doctor when there are certain indications. The bandage during pregnancy should be properly worn: it should not stitches or squeeze the pelvic bones, only to provide support to the fetus. It's easiest to put on a bandage when lying on a bed. You can not wear it all the time, even if you suffer from pain. At night, additional care should be taken, and ideally in the daytime, you need to take breaks in wearing the bandage every 3-4 hours. An exception are the serious indications for its use, then the daytime breaks can be ruled out.

There are several types of bandages. How to choose a bandage for pregnant women is best described by the attending physician. The least used is the so-called bandage panties, which are high panties with inserts of elastic tissue in the waist and lower abdomen. It is very convenient to wear and wear, but since it is also a coward, the rules of hygiene oblige to erase such a bandage every day, which causes certain inconveniences. Such circumstances do not allow buying only one bandage, which is quite costly.

The most common simple bandage during pregnancy in the form of a belt. It does not require daily washing and perfectly supports the constantly growing tummy. Modern manufacturers offer two types of belts: wide and narrow. A narrow bandage can crash into the skin and cause discomfort, so wide is considered more convenient. This belt is fastened with a sticky surface, thanks to which a woman can regulate the amount of girth in each month of pregnancy.

Recently, universal bandages have been actively used, which women use both during pregnancy and after childbirth. And the effect in the first and second cases is quite the opposite. This type of bandage is a belt with a wide and narrow part. During pregnancy, the wide part serves to support the lower back, and narrow - to maintain the correct location of the fetus. When a small miracle appears, a woman begins to think about her figure. In this case, she puts the bandage on the contrary: a wide part to the stomach, which allows the young mother to regain the old forms in a short time.

Many domestic manufacturers still produce bandages that are attached with lacing. Experts do not recommend wearing it in view of extreme inconvenience. Firstly, such a bandage during pregnancy is hard enough to use daily. And secondly, it is created from a material that does not have the property of elasticity, and this only harms the tummy.

Currently, most manufacturers make even relatively cheap bandages from cotton elastic jersey. This material allows the skin to breathe, besides it does not cause allergies. The most common is a bandage for pregnant orlett. This company for many years on the market has proved itself as one of the most responsible and best manufacturers of the world.
